You won't find a worst doctor. He is incredibly rude. Offers no feedback. Is slow to return calls. You just walk in, tell him what pills you want, and walk out.

If you already know what meds you need and want a psychiatrist that is for the most part out of the way, he is for you. However, if you are in the middle of figuring out your mental health issue, there are much better options. Dr. Rao is at best quick and curt and at worst somewhat rude. His appointments are very in-and-out; he is not interested in your experiences and concerns, he simply wants quick answers to your questions so he can be done. He does not offer much explanation or reassurance about your condition or the medications prescribed. He can also be a bit difficult to reach as he is old school, and only communicates via phone calls that are not followed up on as promptly as I would hope. Good luck trying to understand his mumbly voicemails. Again, if you know what meds you need, he is fine. However there are better psychiatrists out there and even in the same building. He did refill my prescriptions for about a year after I last saw him though, which was nice.

Dr. Rao is highly professional and devoted to treating his patients. He has treated me over 20 years. He knows what medications to prescribe you for your condition. I am very fortunate to have him as my doctor.

I have been a patient for years he is a caring compassionate doctor, and always has time for you. Any negative reviews for this doctor are totally incorrect. He listens and works with you. He knows medication very well, and is very knowledgeable.

Dr. Rao's service depends on his mood and stress levels he is experiencing day to day. He can be unprofessional and dismissive at times which can take a patient aback. Bedside manner is suggested for this doctor as he is dealing with vulnerable people and cannot afford to treat them as second class citizens. I had a few visits with him and decided to move on to someone who can treat people with tact and dignity.
