I am eternally grateful for Dr Skovlund
Long story short, I had severe psoriasis all over my body due to chronic infected tonsils. I went to two doctors before Dr Skovlund, both of whom tried to tell me there was not a link between my tonsils and my psoriasis, and they would not even entertain the idea of a tonsillectomy as a treatment. They both just tried to push biologic injections and creams on me, which I was so tired of dealing with. When I saw Dr Skovlund I immediately had a feeling she would be different. I showed her the research I had done and she agreed to look into the connection. I later got a call saying she was willing to try a tonsillectomy as a treatment. We did the surgery and it was a HUGE success!! My skin was clear within a week like a miracle. This was in 2018 And I have never had another complication with my skin or my tonsils since then. I feel like Dr Skovlund gave me my life back and I will forever be grateful for her open mind and compassionate care.

Amazing
Dr. Skovlund has walked me through the aftermath of massive facial trauma, always showing commitment, kindness, collaboration, expertise, and professionalism. I feel lucky that she happened to be on call when I was brought to HCMC last summer.

Rushed through visits. Poor patient interaction.
Dr. Skovlund broke protocol, despite pleas from the patient, resulting in permanent jaw deformity. Currently receiving treatment from new doctors to repair damage done by Dr. Skovlund.

She spent very little time with me - maybe 2 minutes total. And she offered very little in the way of diagnosis or treatment. Told me my dizziness would probably "just go away in a few weeks." When I asked if it could be something to do with a sinus infection I'd had recently she didn't even let me finish my question before very rudely dismissing my concerns. Cold, didn't seem to care about me or the fact that I was scared because of this sudden dizziness I was experiencing. Was not reassuring. Was not helpful. Extremely poor bedside manner. I don't need coddling, but I do need a doctor that's sympathetic to my medical condition and can offer a concrete plan for treatment. I would not recommend Dr. Skovlund to anyone.

She is a great Doctor. She explains things well and won't do the surferies if its not necessary.
