Staff ok, doctor distracted and insensitive
Bad experience. The doctor kept jumping up and leaving the room - in the middle of my exam - to deal with other patients’ insurance issues, and this happened several times. (I could hear his conversations about co-pays, etc. through the closed door.) I was shocked by the unprofessional behavior. Definitely cared more about getting paid than me as a patient or my eye health. The test he conducted was not adequately explained or described and was extremely painful. He was dismissive and uncaring after. I was in tears, and I had a headache and my eyes hurt for the rest of the day. The staff was fine, but I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Look elsewhere.

Love Dr. Kakaria!
Recently moved to the Mechanicsburg area, and needed to get all new doctors, which is always challenging. Discovered I had a cataract that needed to be removed, and my eye doctor suggested Dr. Kakaria. He and his entire staff are wonderful. Extremely friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Very professional, they explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. Dr. Kakaria has the best 'bedside manner'. AND, he did an amazing job during the surgery, kept me nice and calm , I didn't feel a thing! I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kakaria to anyone, and I already have!!!!!

He talks very loudly. He appeared to me very anxious. I personally would not let someone with such visible anxiety operate on me. He wouldn't look at me for extended time when I asked a tough question about alleged cataracts he said I had. He insulted my weigh. The initial front desk person was very nice, but struggled to do her job... greatly. Kakaria suggested I had bilateral cataracts but couldn't prove it to me with evidence visually.

Extremely pleased with Dr. Kakaria
My optometrist referred me to Dr. Kakaria for cataract surgery. I was extremely pleased with Dr. Kakaria's knowledge, care and thorough examinations prior to the surgery. The surgery was successful and I couldn't be happier with the results. He's also very personable and his staff very pleasant and efficient. I highly recommend this practice.

Capable & arrogant
I went to see him as a new patient. The physician is a good diagnostician, over all, but not thorough enough (and my opinion is based on medical knowledge). I speak with an accent and he asked questions but never did let me provide him with a complete answer, as he would interrupt and move on to the next question. In my view, he undermined me for being a foreigner and assumed I could not articulate my thoughts into words. I even told him he wasn’t allowing me to finish my sentences and he laughed, yet he didn’t change his approach. He did not listened and thus he could not completely diagnose why my my vision is poor on one eye. He was absolutely arrogant and made me feel quite uncomfortable. He wants to be praised and treated as a superior human being; he needs an audience. I will not return to his practice. His staff, however, is the complete opposite: respectful and efficient, but unfortunately they can’t help me with my vision issues.

Dr. kakaria and his staff are kind, efficient and knowledgeable. This is probably the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. I didn’t feel rushed through or asked to wait in the waiting room until my eyes were ready to be examined. I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing eye care of any kind.

Dr. Kakaria's attention to my eye problems, cataract surgeries, and now followup care was excellent. As an ophtamologist, I highly recommend him. The only reason I am rating him 4 starts vs 5 stars is the amount of time spent waiting in his office, and then in the inner office once I am called. My travel to his office is almost one full hour and then to wait one or more hours is very frustrating. I have to plan for the whole day because I don't know how long it will take. Scheduling issues?

I was reminded about my appointment a day prior and got to the office, staff told me that I had a balance. I stated that I would take care of it and they dialated my eyes, sent me back and the doctor was very rude and told me that he can't continue to see me unless I made 500.00 payments. $30 or $40 payments were not good enough and refused to see me after I was already in the chair. Very rude! I ended up leaving and paid a copayment without care. He does not care about his patients!
