Waste of Time
Doctor Sana Qureshi treated her patient and patient's family with undeserved rudeness and unprofessionalism, dismissed opportunity to learn from the very best and seasoned doctors and researchers in her field, publicly displayed contempt to her own staff, and severely delayed her patient's recovery.

Irresponsible and no compassion
I saw Dr. Qureshi in the summer of 2020 only once. I was 19 years old and in my very first appointment (which felt rushed and uncomfortable) she recommended I do electro shock therapy for my depression. She barely got to know me and my mental health conditions in detail and had the confidence to say that. At the time, I was desperate but knew I should definitely not trust one doctor’s recommendation and I never went back to see her or went through with the treatment. Thinking back, I cannot image how irresponsible that recommendation was and how it could have severely impacted me and my life. My therapist at the time who knew her could not believe it when I told her. I’m still in shock she even recommended that and all I have to say is AVOID THIS DOCTOR.

I am only giving her four stars even though she was six stars to us. Why the four stars? Because her directness might rub some the wrong way; some can’t handle that, and her help may backfire due to such a clash. She shoots from the hip. But she was always very cordial, kind and professional with me. And I’ve seen her be very sweet with her elderly patients, so perhaps she is more blunt with younger patients. Arguably the most knowledgeable physician about the latest meds and research, which is even more critical with the more opaque science of psychiatry. And she is willing to share that info and explain it in layman’s terms, unlike most old school psychiatrists who can be offended if you ask questions. Mercy Hospital was stupid for letting her get away.

I dont know how she got 5 star reviews, I read all the 1 star reviews and agree. My loved one and myself were treated with disrespect and her arrogance. Whoever that 5 star doctor was , work on getting back there. Mental illness is serious and dealing with it everyday takes a toll, I hope she gets the help she needs to get 5 stars again.

If you read the 1 star reviews below - read them with a pinch of salt. Dr. Qureshi was a fantastic psychiatrist while at Mercy and had the misfortune of relocating at the heigh of the pandemic lockdown. Due to this she was unable to see her patients at Mercy an longer - like myself. This meant no meds from her (after her final 60 day prescription) and finding a new psychiatrist - not the end of the world here people. She is the best at her job and I wouldn’t want to spill my deep dark secrets to anyone else. Yes she is intelligent, yes she doesn’t beat around the bush, yes she will hurt your feelings - if you’re the kind of person that allow her to. I would recommend her to anyone in need of psychiatric help.

1 star. Actually. Zero stars. Terrible bedside manner. Not compassionate. She definitely is highly intelligent and I would reccomend she takes up work in an academic or research field as she will have less contact with people. I think she should not be a psychiatrist. She left me without care in a time of need. Would not return or answer calls. In the beginning she did as she gave me her personal number and said I can call in times of need. In times of need I called. The one time that I was truly having an emergency she hung up the phone and blocked my number both on WhatsApp and regular call and text. Her secretaries were unkind and unhelpful. They probably only cared about clocking in and out and making a salary. When she moved from Mercy Hospital to Tamarac she refused to be contacted. The office, not her, recommended a Dr Callahan. He was very kind and helpful and highly competent and professional. As for her. I wouldn't even allow her to care for a pet rock.

I have been a patient of hers for several months. She has given me medications and I was supposed to see her the 1st of july 2020 but Steven from her office called to cancel saying she will not receive patient at mercy anymore. I have asked that she calls me but never got called back. I consider this to be an abandon of a patient. I have a refill for 3 more months thanks god but now I need to find someone else, no referral. I quote his secretary" You will need to find a new Doctor". That is totally unprofessional so no I would not recommend this doctor!!!

Would NOT see Dr. Qureshi again if she were the only psychiatrist in Miami. She took my husband off two benzodiazepines and an anti-seizure medication cold turkey, putting him at risk of seizures, which in fact he had. She has an arrogant bedside demeanor and does not return phone calls, despite repeated attempts to leave messages. Would definitely not recommend her to anyone. Would give her zero stars if I could.

Admitted to mercy hospital under dr Qureshi- medical director she made me feel so comfortable! I had a private room with a view of the ocean allowed extra visitation from family and she provided intense therapy individually for me also not just meds her staff was awesome! Being in the hospital sucks but dr Qureshi went out of her way to make me feel comfortable! I am Glad to see she also takes insurance for follow up! After the admission she followed up with me to make sure. I was okay! Thank you mercy and dr q!
