Poor Quality Care
We had been patients of Dr Younis for almost 10 years. He came highly recommended by my wife's cardiologist and was one of the few primary care physicians in our Medicare HMO in the city we live. Ten years ago, he was an excellent diagnostician. As time progressed, his diagnoses became sloppy. Additionally, he is being forced by the insurance providers to computerize his records, and he is trying to pass on the additional costs by requiring patients to have a "wellness physical" examination every ninety days to renew prescriptions. Most Medicare HMO plans will only pay for ONE "wellness physical" examination per year. Big question - are the patients supposed to pay for the additional "wellness physical" examinations? It's sad to see a doctor sign his own death certificate.

Too many PA's
I was a patient of Dr. Younis for years. I will say that when I saw him, it was fine. But in 5 years time, I saw him twice. Every other time I was there, I was always seen by a different Physician's Assistant, and there were many. I finally got tired of being treated by his assistant and chose to see a different doctor. When I go to the doctor, occasionally I would like to see a doctor. Office staff was somewhat ok. My advice is to find another doctor.

I would not recommend him or his office. DR. never met me on either visits Instead his PA showed. up. He was called into my room. At which point he did not introduce himself, look me in the eye. I needed a request for for an ex-ray. I left, went to the imaging center and was told the papers were not filled out as required . Complete waste of my time. I was only switched to St. Joseph for two months. Help, get me out of here. I am returning, gladly to Hoag Affiliates asap.

Do not go here if you are young, Dr. Younis will gaslight you the entire time you see him (which would only be ~5min of yelling and talking down before he walks away from you). My appointment was at 11, I didn't even see him till 11:20. I talk to him about stomach issues I was having for months, he just says maintain a better diet and prescribes me a med. I ask if it could be anything more complicated, he looks at me like I'm an idiot and says no you're 25 and walks away. 5 min of talking total. Doesn't say bye or ask if there's anything else. The nurse comes to wrap things up and I ask her if she can call the doctor back as I had more questions. He comes back and shakes his head saying "cmon I have other patients". I just say sorry and ask about some mucus issues I've been having for a long time, he says it's allergies and to take allegra and walks away again. On his way out I ask if I can get bloodwork done, he shakes his head again, goes to get the forms then tells me to leave.

After being a patient for 3 years, I was told I could no longer be treated by him because I refused to take cholesterol meds while having good cholesterol numbers from my lab work. There was just a phone call from someone at the front desk letting me know. No offer of an explanation, or consultation, just an ultimatum. The nurse practitioner as pushing drugs on the side that were internet scam worthy for weight loss and diabetes. She even told me not to tell Dr. because she would get in trouble.

Dr. Younis is very good regarding disease process and recommendations. I'm not impressed with his new PA, does not follow thru or make appropriate recommendations for disease process. HAD to call the office and insist on outside referral.

Jenni in the front office is excellent and keeps the office running smoothly. She's also a blessing to work with - always with a smile and positive attitude (especially when patient's aren't feeling well)! Others should strive to be like her. She treats you as a person and not a number.

I've been seeing dr younis for over 20 years. He has become more than a doctor and I consider him a friend as well. While his office is always busy he takes the time to discuss my issues.

This Dr. did nothing for me I was in extreme pain and it took almost 2 weeks to get my blood test results back and he was supposed to treat me but instead referred me to another Dr. All I can say if you have a major illness and are in major pain run from this Dr. and get to a real professional. They don't care what is wrong. In the meantime I went to a different Dr. he ran more tests and got to the bottom of my illness and I am doing fine. I would never recommend this Dr.

The P.A. Kirsten is hurried and impatient. Her demeanor is that of I have seen it all and heard it all. This is a get you in and get you out FAST facility. I'm am an intuitive person with above average intellect. I am very observant and understand health mechanics. My opinion is that this is a low quality service possibly a result of too many patients. If you have a problem there is a good chance it will be overlooked here. You will be left uninformed with questions of what to do next.
