I would and I have many, many times. He treats the whole patient. He speaks honestly and on a level the patient can understand. If he wasn't retiring I wouldn't go to any other surgeon.

Dr. Chewing has been my surgeon (he's performed 3 scoliosis surgeries on me) scoliosis Healthcare advisor since 1988. He is kind to his patients and doesn't mind taking the time if you need him to further explain any details of your case and your treatments. He takes your health seriously and is very straight forward with you. With all this being said...you should be aware that more times than not I usually have to wait for quite a while. Appointments running late are most likely because he gives each patient his 100% & undivided attention or perhaps he had an unscheduled/emergency patient. My advice is to try to get appointments first thing in the a.m. or last one of the day. I hope this is helpful. I wouldn't go to any other doc for my spine.

Dr chewing rebuilt my back in 2006 and I have been able to walk and have been pain free ever since. 12 hours on the operating table and I am still walking. Professional and kind. He is my hero.

Great guy and a straight shooter. All I ever needed from a doctor. I'll be seeing you one of these days soon I hope by the way! He is my long term spine care man.. no one I'd rather see, so I see him from time to time as I have some progressive conditions, or may see him if I have incurred an injury. I have been put together with screws for almost 20 years, and never met a bone doctor I like as much as Dr. Chewning. I have great respect for him as a patient and a person.

I wish I had the words to express to Dr Chewing my "THANKS" . He did surgery on my back June 28, 2016. Sciatica nerve in my left leg became painful. He explained what needed to be done. After discussing this procedure I knew I had to make a decision. I made the right one. I trusted him to operate on me. Restore my leg to normal. Today 08/14/2016 I am doing great. No pain. I can move and walk without pain. Yes, I made the right decision. Dr Samuel Chewing. Thank You.
