Dr. Samrawit Tekle, MD

Seen her for a year- Dr. Tekle is rude, condescending, stubborn, cold, rushed, and does not listen to patients. She believes she is smarter than you, but uses google to prescribe medication and answer questions. She prescribed me a migraine preventative that was previously prescribed by my neuro that my PCP said not to take because it interacted w/ another medication I am on. She knew this and would not listen to me. She denied my BC refill 4 days before I ran out because I “have a history of migraine w/ aura.” She has prescribed it for a year already, I’ve been on it for a decade, and I’ve only had 1 aura during the 14 yrs I’ve had migraines. No Drs. in the past have said I cannot take this BC. If she was up to date with research, she would know that low dose combination BC pills do not increase the risk of stroke and may actually decrease aura frequency (Calhoun, 2017). Her beliefs are based on outdated research on older, higher dose BC pills that are no longer used today.
