Dr. Melford was really great! Very compassionate and helpful doctor. Really thorough.

Dr. Melford’s dedication to me and my medical requirements was second to none. He visited every day even on his days off and spent quality time with me.He always was prepared to answer my questions and knew my personal Cardiologist at Hoag Hospital. I and my family are truly grateful for his expertise and bedside manner. A gem of a doctor and a person.

I have been a patient of Dr. Medford for two years. I feel so fortunate to have been referred to him by my primary physician. I can’t say enough about Dr. Melford. He is professional, friendly, and he cares about his patients. When I first went to him, he diagnosed my problem, he explained it to me in terms I could understand and he gave me alternatives to address my issue. He has great bedside manner, and he never makes you feel like you are being rushed.

All my doctors are, of course, very skilled professionals, but there is always some awkwardness in my visits. Doctors don't need to have a great personality, and many of mine don't, so it's always refreshing to visit Dr Melford. He's a friendly 'pat on the back' physician who listens to me and makes me feel comfortable about asking questions. He always leaves me smiling and confident in his skills and decisions. I'm convinced that he is personally invested in my well-being. He obviously likes helping people and loves his job.

Dr. Melford saved my life twice when going through breast cancer and chemco. No other words are necessary. Bless you my "son".

Dr. Melford is fantastic! I moved to CA in March 2019 after years in AZ, where I'd had a pacemaker implanted, relocated twice and removed because the pain never stopped. I was told that I could never have another pacemaker because the scar tissue was too severe. Doc quote: "You're all used up." As a quadriplegic since 1970, I know I'm complicated and figured my time just might be up. After moving here, I broke down & had to be admitted as an emergency. Dr. Melford and the equally brilliant surgeon, Dr. Frumin, assured my wife and me that a new pacemaker could be easily put in and then did it so expertly (it hurt less right after surgery than the old scars hurt now), it was like a miracle. I had felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz: there's nothing in that bag for me. Now, I feel I'm in the land of better wizards! Thank you, Dr. Melford!

Dr. Ryland Melford, M.D. is an extremely brilliant cardiologist ! Dr. Melford is Chief of Cardiology of Saddleback Memorial Hospital. His areas of expertise are Heart failure, Transplant, Cardio thoracic, Vascular, etc. Dr Melford saved my life and informed me of my exact heart condition where other heart drs had missed his diagnosis. He is very thorough in his patient assessment, kind, with a sincere bedside manner.This doctor is a valuable asset to our community, with an exemplary dedication to his field, his patients, Saddleback Hospital, South County Cardiology Group and saving lives. I am thankful at 69 to have finally found this exemplary heart dr. He is a class act and extremely knowledgeable! He's brilliant! He is the BEST cardiologist I have ever had. I am so thankful to have found Dr Melford as my heart condition has greatly improved and in good shape now under his care. Rarely have I see a specialist who is so attentive and considerate. I was referred to Dr. Melford by my Primary Care physician to evaluate an abnormal heartbeat. He was focused, intuitive, professional, and articulated my situation well. He did not seem rushed, and stayed to answer all of my questions and prescribe a course of treatment. Pleasantly surprised! Strongly recommend.

If there is such a thing as a perfect Doctor it's Dr. Melford! He takes the time to explain necessary information in a way you can easily understand, he listens to your concerns, and he treats you like you're the most important patient he has, he's so kind and gentle and does his best to put you at ease.
