Dr. Ryan Zitzke, MD

The whole staff was very friendly and courteous! Dr. Zitzke answered my questions as well as joked around with me, lol. He was awesome about what I needed and told me how we would treat my issue. He explained what was seen on my X-rays and how long it was going on. My nurse, Rebecca, I believe, was a lot of fun to talk to as well as pleasant and courteous! I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is having knee issues.

Dr. Zitzke replaced my right hip in Dec, 2020. He is easy to work with and very professional, plus he is an excellent surgeon. He explained everything well, giving alternatives and let me make my own decision, which was appreciated. I have no problem recommending Dr. Zitzke as an excellent orthopaedic surgeon and rate him highly. I have worked in the medical research field for many years and know many medical professionals, so I have a sound basis for comparison and rating.

Dr Zitzke was on call 3 days after my wife's total knee replacement. She called the after hours phone number on a Saturday to get a prescription renewed. When Dr Zitzke returned her call, not only did he refuse to call in a refill but worse than that he was very rude. After talking down to my wife he hung the phone up. He had no compassion whatsoever. He was rude and arrogant and kept talking over my wife and wouldn't listen. We do not recommend this Dr based on his terrible attitude. He is NOT a professional who cares about patients.

We were referred to Dr. Zitzke for my wife's hand. Her pinky was swollen and the joints were popping and locking up. MRI, x-rays, blood work all showed everything was normal. His attitude was one of "it's all in your head, there is nothing wrong. Let's schedule PT". Well here we are 3 months later and her hand is getting worse. I wouldn't trust this doctor with a piece of paper and scissors. Save yourself some headaches, and see a specialist outside of Sumter, SC.

my experience with doctor zitzke an his amazing team were wonderful from the start to finish. he is a very smart an kind man he explained everything he was going to do an has very good bed side manners. the only two things I do regret is one I waited to long to do the review and two im not able to have him replace my other hip due to relocation. I highly recommend him!
