Rude staff. They make faces and slow down the process to be seen. The front desk girl (Anna Martinez) seemed to want to find a way to ensure I wouldn’t be seen today. Disappointing, uncouth, unnecessary

Not worth it
The wait time is horrible (2-hour wait) and the staff does not fill prescriptions and will cancel your appointment without informing you. The doctor did not communicate the results of my procedures and was short with me for asking questions. Very disappointing.

I saw Dr. Barrientos to schedule a colonoscopy. He was professional although the wait time was excessive. The office scheduled my colonoscopy but for some reason they could not do what they needed to do to get the prep solution to me. I called repeatedly, my pharmacists sent them messages, my insurance company tried to reach them. They would not submit the necessary paperwork to get the prep they insisted on using approved. My previous colonoscopy with another doc 14 yrs. ago was not like this at all. The staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing. I ended up cancelling my procedure due to their lack of follow through. Before cancelling, I asked to speak to doctor because he needs to be aware of this and they said that the doctor doesn't speak to patients about this. Mmm. Interesting. Well doc, I hope you read this

I’ve been seeing dr Barrientos for 3 years now after having an emergency abdominal surgery. He explains things well and helps narrow down symptoms better than any other doctor I’ve had.

After seeing numerous gastro doctors with no diagnosis, Dr. Barrientos sent me for a test and quickly identified my problem. He spent time going over the test results and his plan of treatment. I highly recommend him.

Waste of my time. I set up my appointment with enough cushion room (I thought) before I had to go leave for work but nope. I paid for the expensive parking and filled out the paperwork for no reason. My appointment was at 3:30 and I left at 4:50 without being seen. Only come here if you have no plans for the day. Ridiculous.

Dr. Barrientos is one of the kindest most caring doctors I've ever been to. He took care of my father so well that I decided to use him as my gastro. He answers every question thoroughly and is very knowledgeable. He loves what he does and it shows. He is what every doctor should aim to be. He genuinely has your best interest in mind and is more concerned with your wellbeing than anything else. I couldn't recommend a better doctor. If you're reading this right now, don't 2nd guess just go to him, you'll be in great hands. His staff especially Nitza (sp. ?) is amazing as well.

I was referred to Dr. Barrientos by another doctor for my gastro issues. I was brought back into the patient room and waited over an hour to be seen - all the while listening to him discuss margaritas and sanchos with his staff the entire time (the walls are thin). Then when he did come into the room, he rudely asked me why I was there. He spent less that 5 minutes with me and ordered a scan. I have since contacted my referring doctor and advised he be removed from their referral list.

The doctor and office staff are cordial, however, their installations and workflow are not equipped to handle a lot of patients. Due to their limited capacity, they also use a 3rd party service for referrals which adds an extra step and time to the process. So if you have an alternative chose another provider. Having said this, they accommodated my last-minute request for an appointment so I am grateful for that.

I saw Dr Barrientos quite a few months ago. I was looking for a new GI doc and he had good rating on Healthgrades. I waited at least 1.5 hours passed my appointment time to see him and when I finally saw him, he was not at all friendly. I left with the feeling that I was wasting his time. I’m not sure who is receiving such great treatment, but it was not me. Also, his office didn’t send in my insurance paperwork so I had to figure out why I received such a large bill and get it corrected.
