Dr. Ryan Asterita, MD

Dr. Asterita is concerned about his patients. He is very thorough in his explanations of any questions you may have. He is extremely helpful. I recommend him highly to friends and neighbors.

Dr. Asterita is great-doesn't rush and is extremely personable. Him and his staff always respond to any email communication I may have pretty immediately.

My husband and I both have been going to Dr. Asterita for the past five years. Our original primary physician relocated and we were appointed or directed to Dr.Asterita. We were concerned at first, not knowing anything about him. I cannot begin to tell you how thoroughly, happy we are and comfortable with his care. I have worked in the medical atmosphere for many years and find him to be very knowledgeable and willing to research a symptom if he’s not familiar with it and ultimately recommend a follow up with the specialist if needed.

Takes his time answers all my concerns very knowledgeable caring physician. Very fortunate my husband and I found him.

Takes time to explain things well without talking down. Answers questions and suggest reasonable follow up actions. Thought amount of time spent with me was good and appointments have been on time.

Very compassionate nice Dr. who took his time, and was very understanding about my depression and anxiety. It was my first visit and he understood what to do right away, I think I will really like him much better than my other Dr.

Terribly inexperienced - very nice demeanor but if you have anything complex go somewhere else. I was given stretching directions when I presented with stabbing abdominal pain to the point where I couldn’t walk and had random accompanying hip and nerve pain. I was 36 at the time and athletic. When I said I was concerned of endometriosis for various accompanying side effects I was brushed off and told this is a first step. Turned out to be Endo- diagnosed later through a different dr. He also finally gave me a referral months later to a neurosurgeon he highly recommends (Tally). If you research Tally he has cut open the wrong side of people’s brains twice during surgery. Nice guy if you have the flu but not anyone who will dig to find a solution or help if he is overwhelmed by your case. Not expecting him to be a specialist but not ok being disregarded

Dr Asterita takes time to listen to you. He asks appropriate questions and is very thorough in his examinations and reviews of your lab results. He is compassionate and understanding. He has a great bedside manner and I would highly recommend him. It’s a busy practice and my only complaint is the office staff who at times are somewhat abrupt both during check in and check out procedures and on the telephone. This needs to be managed better and has no reflection on the high quality of care from Dr Asterita and the nurses.

Dr. Asterita is very caring and really listens and strives to find underlying causes to help you feel better. He combines a practical view with listening and problem solving to help his patients. The only complaint I have is the office staff (not nurses), which can be the opposite. They may ignore you and make you stand in line for 10-30 minutes (pre-Covid), rude, belittling, etc. I just deal with it & ignore it, but I've seen some patients that get very upset. It would be an easy fix for them, they just need a better office manager. But all worth it to see Dr Asterita. Please note, this is a large office with many doctors, so I'm sure Dr Asterita is not in charge of the office staff.

As a physician myself I feel my perspective is unique. I have been seeing Dr. Asterita now for almost 2 years and I can say without reservation that he is one of the best internal medicine docs I have encountered. He has a great bedside manner and always listens to any of my concerns. He did not know I was a physician the first time I met with him so this not lip service because I get 'special' attention because of my profession. He has always been willing to work with me through any concerns I have. He is thorough and explains everything he is doing and why. I know I have been there when he was on call at the hospital and was very busy, but I never felt rushed through a visit. If you want a doc that cares about his patients and will go the extra mile for you, Dr. Asterita should be your choice.

Seems to be more interested in quantity of patients than quality of care. Extremely slow to respond to email and telephone messages. Does not listen well resulting in erroneous data posted to medical record (and on the Internet).

Moving residences is one of the most anxiety provoking events of human life. However, yesterday, during our first appointment with Dr. Asterita, he did so much to allay our fears of the unknown regarding our medical care. His expertise, manner and positive attitude led both my wife Deborah and I to conclude that we had found an extraordinary physician to manage our health care here in Florida.

Dr. Asterita was recommended for my Primary Care Physician. I have had one visit with him and found him to be a very good listener and thorough (having gone through all my medications and general health).

Dr. Asterita was very kind and understanding , took the time to listen to me and explained things to me. I did not feel rushed through my visit. I would recommend him to anyone. Although this was my first appointment with Dr. Asterita I was impressed.
