Not interested in patients
My first visit was alright. My second appt was set up on a Monday. I came down with the flu that weekend and called first thing Monday morning to reschedule. The appointment was given six months out (from January to July). I got called and was told a NP could see me the following morning. I live 45 miles from New Braunfels, but with traffic, construction, and having a hard time finding their location (even with GPS), I was 13 minutes late. They wanted to reschedule me again! This time they said that same afternoon. At this time, I realized there is no empathy and care for their patients, why even bother!

Seek a different practice
As the daughter of a former patient here, we entrusted my mom’s well-being to Dr. Armour with high hopes. However, my experience has been nothing but a source of disappointment and concern. When we needed to relocate, Dr. Armour failed to deliver on the standard referral/medical record transfer once we found a new neurologist. This resulted in a delay in my mom’s care, and I’m concerned of any resulting negative impacts. We didn’t have this issue with *any* of her other doctors. I feel deeply worried about anyone else who may consider seeking care from this doctor. It’s with a heavy heart that I recommend caution and encourage you to explore other healthcare options.

From Texas Veterans beware this Dr and office.
If your a veteran get the referral back and find someone who doesn't treat you as a paycheck when they need it. Keeps canceling my appointment will make a year before I can be seen with no meds, and in severe pain. Please find drs who care versus treating you as a guaranteed check.

UPDATE --- Dr. Armour has moved to Texas as of 7-1-22. His new practice is in a greatly underserved area, so I imagine appointments will be an issue there too. PREVIOUS REVIEW --- Great doctor IF you can get an appointment. Took 2 months to schedule an initial visit, and the closest follow-up visit was almost 4 months out. Once you get in a room with Dr. Armour, you'll be happy he's treating you. He's very thorough, explains your condition well, and provides clear treatment options.

Impersonal for my EMG. Came right in with minimal introduction to me or my husband. He did not explain in a way that made me aware of or prepared to what was coming next. He just went to sticking needle in my legs, getting readings and explaining what was going on to the student. On more than one occasion I had to tell him to stop to give me a break as I yelled out in pain and discomfort. I did not feel as though he knew a real person was actually attached to the legs he was sticking needles into. I would not recommend him until his ability to recognize a patient improves. Horrible bedside manner and interpersonal skills.

As part of the UC Davis team for ALS Dr. Armour became my Neurologist. So glad that happened. I have seen a Neurologist much closer to home, but never again. Dr. Armour treats the whole person, not just the disease. He delivers that bad news with compassion.

Dr. Armour is an excellent neurologist and goes the extra mile to make sure his patients get the best possible care and that they fully understand their condition. We have many neurologists closer to our home but drive the extra distance because we trust Dr. Armour and his staff. He always makes sure he or a staff member calls back promptly with answers to my questions as well. We really appreciate the excellent care Dr. Armour provides.

My 92-year old mother was referred to Dr. Armour through the Mercy Medical System. Dr. Armour has been gracious and caring toward her, with just enough humor and stern-ness to keep her on track. He was able to assess some shortcomings in her previous treatment, established a progressive program for her, and has resolved a number of long-standing issues with her legs. This is a great doctor, and a really good guy.
