Dr. Ruzbeh Toussi, DO

Dr. Toussi is an amazing physician. He is kind, caring and an excellent diagnostician. His knowledge about anatomy and all that could be causing your pain is stellar. I am from a medical family and worked for many years as a research nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. I have spent many years among the best of the best physicians. Dr. Toussi tops that list of the best of the best.

I was feeling nervous switching from orthoVa in Richmond to Lynchburg due to a move. This doctor and his team were very nice, thorough and had read my whole history before coming into my appointment. I was able to get right back on my treatment plan and I am so thankful!! I would recommend 100%.

Dr. Toussi spoke very loudly which created a tense environment. His “bedside manner” is uncaring. I feel like a $50 copay was paid just for him to non-chalantly explain the radiology (x-ray) results. Dr Toussi asked how I ended up there to see him. I was scheduled with him through the OrthoVa on-call clinic. He said “You need a MRI”. He offered no pain management options, although he is listed as a pain management provider. I had to ask if another course of steroids would be safe. Dr. Toussi said “sure I can send in another dose pack”. I think it is a reasonable expectation that the provider would make the suggestions, not the other way around, I left in the same amount of pain, without a clear treatment plan. He agreed to send in a course of steroids and told me to attempt some at home exercises which I had already explained that I was unable to do because of the pain. (The provider I saw at the OrthoVa on-call visit had given me exercises to try).

We started with the least invasive care and have moved on as needed. He is a great listener and I totally appreciate the care he gives.

Dr. Toussi listens actively, explains his observations well and gives time for me to ask questions - as I assume he does with all of his patients. He helped manage my pain from unbearable to a position of normalcy. I appreciate his approach of being mindful of my situation and not throwing medications at my lower back issue.

There were so many on sight available services. And the people were so great. Treated me like a human being an not just a patient.

I had such an amazing appointment that I cannot stop raving about it! Toussi was so caring, helpful, and thorough. I will definitely be recommending him. He made sure to answer all my questions and explain everything. Short wait time, friendly staff, and had the ability to do my X-rays/ read results in a quick fashion.

Dr. Toussi was very thorough. He explained my condition, what he saw on my x-rays. Told me of his concern and advised to have another test. Ask if I had any other questions or concerns. Very nice, was a pleasure having him as my doctor.

No bedside manner. Did not explain procedure well to know what to expect.

Great fix my back pain now is better smile

My husband was very satisfied w/ this Dr. He was kind and gave assurance as he proceeded w/ the injection. The only thing that really bothered him was lying on his stomach w/ sheet over his head.....that gave him a bit of claustrophobia.

He is a wonderful pain doctor and I hate to let him go due to this insurance.

Dr Toussi was highly recommended and did not disappoint. He’s helped with my pain and now I’m able to do things that I had once taken for granted. I recommend him to everyone.

Love this man. His bedside manner is wonderful and enjoyable. He is not stuffy like many Drs. He treats you with dignity and respect and genuinely tries to fix your pain problems. Listens then takes action. I have been in chronic back pain since 2004. He tried things other Drs. haven't suggested with excellent results. Would feel lost if he doesn't stay with Augusta Health.

I found him to be very personable with me, and also able to help my pain. I would recommend him to anyone.

No empathy whatsoever, treats patients with a miniscule amount of dignity or respect.
