Just Retire
Spoke over me the whole time, said my symptoms were “just anxiety” and refused to do any testing besides a colonoscopy which I had already had. Clearly is burnt out and needs to retire. I’ve spoken with several people that have had similar experiences with him and his nurse practitioner. Thankfully, I’ve found another doctor that listened to me and I’m now finally being treated.

Saved my life
Was In Vanderbilt dying and we forced discharge and drove 2.5 hours to Baptist. Dr Carter diagnosed me within 24 hours and got me on right meds. He saved my life. May be abrupt but I can handle that if you can help me. God bless him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Carter for 22 years or so. I began seeing him in my late 30s due to family history of colon cancer. At 42 I was diagnosed with colon cancer, which he found. Thankfully, I have been cancer free for 16 years. He and his office staff are wonderful. I have received excellent care from him and so thankful he has been a part of my healthcare team.

I agree with all of the negative reviews. He’s acts all nice until you question him on his reasonings. His nurse practitioners are the same way. No one knows everything and patients know their bodies better than a doctor that just got a brief summary of their symptoms. If you have any issues that are not extremely common I wouldn’t recommend.

Dr. Carter has performed 3 colonoscopies on me and all of them went well. He was very concerned and diligent about obtaining accurate diagnosis, quick treatment, and follow-up. Dr. Carter was excellent at explaining my situation and my options. He even called me on a weekend to give me updated lab results.

Listened to me and answered my questions in a professional manner. Had a very good bedside manner and spoke with me before and after my procedure. Nurses and staff were very professional and friendly and put me at ease.

He's a know it all doctor that cops and attitude when the patient questions he reasons. I don't appreciate being called fat and yes I'm overweight but being "fat" is not the cause of the issues I went for. He needs to go back to medical school and Learn bedside manners and learn how to treat patients better not sure how he stays in practice to be honest. Stay away and go elsewhere unless you like to be picked apart then this is your DR
