HORRIBLE DOCTOR
He destroyed my right hand by allowing students to cut the nerve Iinmy hand and sweared at me when I told him to STOP THE SURGERY. I was handicapped for THREE YEARS before finding another doctor to repair the damage he caused. AVOID THIS DOCTOR. UCLA should be Ashamed to have kept him for so long.

AVOID.
Please avoid Dr Meals at all costs. I broke my finger on July 4, 2022 and was told I would need surgery so I scheduled my appointment with Dr Meals for the following week. Dr Meals never took any new x-rays, instead, he relied on x-rays that were taken the day of the accident at another hospital. Had Dr Meals done his job and just taken new x-rays, he would have saw that the bone was improperly placed and I would not have a malunion nor would I be in constant pain.

Dr Meals performed surgery on my wrist in 2005. My diagnosis was Avascular Necrosis. Before the surgery, I was in constant pain and unable to use my right hand. Thank goodness for Dr Meals! I haven't had pain in my wrist every since he did the surgery. Wonderful doctor.

Surgery with this pioneer of thumb surgury was well over a decade ago and, at 70, I'm still pain free, have a good grip, and full normal use of both thumbs.

Dr. Meals is a fabulous surgeon. He operated on five of my fingers. I had bone spurs. The operations were painless and healed beautifully, No one can even see the scars, I would recommend Dr. Meals to anyone. He is a highly respected doctor and professor. Look into his background.

I came to see this doctor after being cared for at Scripps- waited close to an hour for him - took my water proof cast off to show him my left hand and pinky - said looks good- never took new xrays - said all was good-turns out it wasn't healing and scar tissue later -now needs surgery -when he saw the hand it was two times the normal size & pinky tendon screwed up from the fall-THANKS -THE WORST DOCTOR-

He was condescending and dismissive. At no point did I feel like a person to him. When I asked what if the steroid shot doesn't work he brushed it off and said it would. It did not work, and the shot made my entire hand hurt, not just my thumb.
