My son is 21, on prednisone for a couple of days for a nasty virus and saw Dr. Kahn the next day who told him that he had a sinus infection and prescribed an antibiotic for 14 days (that particular antibiotic is regularly prescribed at only 7 or 10 days MAXIMUM, so this was the first error). THEN, AFTER my son told Kahn that he didn’t feel good and wanted to wait before taking his annual flu shot, Kahn told him that it was okay to take the flu shot because “it was not live” and proceeded to inject my son with this shot! Within two days, my son had a severe coughing spell where I had to frantically find my inhaler in my purse for him. He couldn’t stop coughing and told me it was affecting his breathing. Brought my son the next morning where Anna Weis (NP at the Wantagh practice) told us that my son had a virus, didn’t need an antibiotic, should take the antibiotic for a total of 7 days only, and should NOT have taken the flu shot. Dr. Kahn should NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE.
