Having chronic kidney disease is not a bag of fun. It is a serious condition and while it is not “curable” taking care of yourself and working closely with your nephrologist can add many more years of high quality life. What I find remarkable about Dr. Desai is- you get both an exceptional practitioner and a compassionate doctor who takes his time listening to his patients, asking questions and answering his patient’s questions- explaining things to make them less scary and easier to take care of yourself. Dr. Rohan Desai has bee my nephrologist since 2018 and from my very first visit I knew he was incredibly competent, highly intelligent, compassionate and he makes me feel at ease even during some of my difficult health issues. I recommend Dr. Desai from the bottom of my heart- His optimism and his positive attitude is healing. He is one of the best doctors that I have had over the years- a doctor I trust, a doctor that is open for discussion and never “forces” his opinion with that “I’m the doctor- I know what is best”, attitude. He is a doctor that raises his patients confidence knowing that he will “tell it like it is” and will never belittle his patients.

Dr. Desai is the first doctor of any whom I see to immediately look at me, not at the computer, to explain fully what kidney disease is, type I have, kind of tests, ongoing treatment. Then, when looking at my profile on the computer, turns to me to explain any thing further, ask whether I have a question. Before ending the interview, he asks if I have understood everything discussed and, again, if there are any further questions.
