Dr. Siouffey has been my Psychiatrist for the past 12 years. I had seen him prior to that during the IOP Program and felt very comfortable with him and trusted his opinions. When my psychiatrist left he referred me to another one and she was just awful. I tried another one and she was good at first then decided to hide behind her desk and dictate orders. I finally advocated with Jan the nurse at Kaiser MH to get Dr. Siouffey. He wasn't accepting new patients at the time and after explaining my situation to Jan and stating how I trusted Dr. Siouffey I got a call the next day from Jan who was suprizes to say that he took me on his case load. As with any doctor you have to find one who you work well with. Dr. Siouffey is a Partner in my recovery and I have been able to work for the past 12 years at the same job and have a life worth living. He listens. He offers his opinions. He also supports my Primary Care doctor when it comes to issues about my physical care and medications

He told my daughter who was feeling suicidal that it was better than having cancer to feel suicidal. So if she had cancer he would help her, but not if she's feeling suicidal? What kind of psychiatrist is that? He needs to become a cancer doctor instead!!!

I've been seeing him for about 13 years now. He's caring, thorough, understanding. He listens and helps me plan. If I miss an appointment he makes sure to follow up with me. He's also personable. I feel important and truly cared for by him.
