Dr. Roger Oen, MD

The older receptionist was rude. She’s always rude every time. She gave me forms & when I walked back up to give them back, less than five mins later she snapped at me that she was at lunch, as if I should know. “This form will cost $25” Not the way to begin a conversation, she didn’t listen to what I was asking first. No matter what the form is, even forms required by the school district that cannot be completed any other way, they hold your records hostage to nickel & dime you. It’s cheap bad look for the office to require $25 to fill out a form that’s the same every school year, I filled out 95% of & will only take a few seconds to sign, even if you have an appt & pay a co-pay. On top of all that, they don’t even have the records I requested from the previous Dr & didn’t even want them before filling it out or giving a vaccine. Gives the vibe that they don’t care about their patients, & won’t even look at records even if they had them. Completely unhelpful, abrasive & cheap.

Dr. Oen may be a great doctor. I will never know. Dr. Oen was assigned as my PCM. I called the doctors office to understand what my initial paperwork would be and schedule a physical. The receptionist was the most rude, arrogant and completely incompetent person I have ever talked to. I took my cue from that conversation and advised her that I would be taking my medical care elsewhere. Dr. Oen you really need to understand the people who are representing you in the office.

My wife and I just had a visit with Dr. Oen and were impressed with his thoroughness and sense of humor. We are hoping to gain a long term relationship with him and his staff. We found the staff very polite and helpful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Oen for 10 years and cannot praise him too highly. He is caring and compassionate, listens and open to questions and very knowledgable. I feel so fortunate to have him for my doctor.

He very recently took care of my wife, who suffered a fairly critical medical issue. I cannot recommend him enough. He spent a good deal of time on multiple occasions both checking up on her, as well as explaining treatment, and what to follow up on with preventative measures. I would rate him as one of the top physicians I've had experience with in care; personable, knowledgeable, and capable. You're in good hands if he's your doctor.

Dr. Oen was aware of a mental health condition I had and discriminated against me for it with his office staff. All I wanted was quality care and I was unable to receive that unfortunately. I was diagnosed with a chronic disease and wanted to communicate with Dr. Oen and his staff blocked me from having an appointment. I have never felt so mistreated. If want a doctor who truly cares about you do not go to doctor Oen. And if you are a patient struggling with numerous conditions he is incapable of grasping complex cases.

Dr. Oen is absolutely committed to providing the best medical care. He is relentless in finding out the cause of his patients' illnesses and will always give you a straight answer - in fact, he's famous for it. I work with his patients and know that he always gives 100% - that's why I chose him to be MY physician.

Dr. Oen is an outstanding and very thorough physician. Dr. Oen works very hard to make sure his patients get the best possible care. I highly recommend Dr. Oen.

I actually felt much sicker under the care of this doctor. He is very happy when a patient suffers from a long-term problem. A discredit to the hospital and American healthcare. Sharp Coronado should hire higher caliber doctors than this guy, if it wants to protect its reputation.

Dr. Oen should be working in a small office where he sees moderately healthy people for minor issues. I'm not saying he's a bad doctor, but he should not be working in a hospital where there are complicated cases that need to be handled delicately. His bedside manner is lacking, his confidence in his own knowledge is questionable, and he talks in circles when he doesn't know what else to say.

Dr. Oen is probably the most thorough primary care doctor I have had. He took a great deal of time during my first visit to understand my medical issues. He follows up, surprisingly, on matters I had not thought of. Usually by a phone call from a member of his staff.
