Exceptional, orthopedic surgeon
Dr Nowak performed two surgeries, and both have remarkable results. He did a lateral epicondylitis surgery to fix my tennis elbow, and I couldn’t be happier. I never thought I’d be 100% free from the pain. I am back to my sports and work out routine, all pain-free. He also repaired two meniscus tears, and did micro fracturing to help replace missing meniscus. It is apparent to me that he’s extremely current on orthopedic options. And he chooses what’s best for you. I highly recommend this surgeon. He’s extremely knowledgeable and personable.

A really good physician who also cares!
Dr. Nowak is a thorough and thoughtful physician who really wants to help his patients do well and is flexible and open minded about the approach is patients wish to take. He presents multiple options for treatment and is very forthright in his opinions but respects his patient's opinions also. A bright and caring physician!

Dr Nowack performed an ACL MCL meniscus surgery on my right knee many years ago, and it has been bomb proof ever since. I recently had meniscus surgery using his replacement at Exeter Hospital and was no where near as satisfied with the post op pain reduction and mobility. I decided to look Dr Nowack up online and discovered he's opened a private practice. I was (and remain) THRILLED. He went in to redo the meniscus ablation and also debrided some bone mass to allow my knee cap to ride where it's supposed to (not even discussed as an option by the other surgeon - they evidently want to do knee replacements as a second resort). After only one week, my knee now feels better than it has in over a year. Not sure why others have had negative reactions to his manner, professionalism, abilities, or whatever! This guy is the BEST!!! James and Jessica in his office are absolutely top notch as well! TEN stars!!!

I loved his truthful and no-nonsense manner, from explaining the MRI results, through the surgery and beyond. He made me feel normal again after a tough rotator cuff surgery and a nerve impingement. Surgery. I Highly recommend this doctor. He's the best!!

Dr. Nowak immediately took command of my shoulder injuries, calming my fears, and accurately diagnosing and surgically repairing two torn tendons. With almost no anticipated post-surgery pain, my recovery is ahead of schedule and my arm/shoulder is rapidly recovering. Thank you, Dr. Nowak! Team Nowak Orthopedics is complemented by a very competent, responsive, and caring staff, Jess and James, who are there for you every step of the way, including great follow-up physical therapy care right in their office suite. I’m very grateful to all for responsive and amazing medical care. Dan S.

I had a full tear rotator Cuff, it took two surgeries to resolve my issue and I have full range motion in my shoulder. This was not the first time, he also repaired my other shoulder and wrist. Roger has always been firm and upfront with me and although the PT was hard, his president nagging me made me pain free today. I’ll miss him and if I need this type of surgery again, I will find him.

Dr. Nowak, in my opinion is better than my internationally renowned surgeons in Boston. He's super confident (cocky) and I love it. I'm devastated he left Core (but I understand why). I'd follow him to any practice if I can.

Nope! Told it was an easy surgery. Recommended a lateral release of patella, ended up cutting through my lateral collateral. Follow up was with PA, did not see Dr. Nowak again until final review and advised to complete more PT due to issues. Second opinion post surgery with a different ortho surgeon shed light on the fact the mistake happened during surgery and was not a PT fix. Disappointed and still dealing with a bad knee.

While Dr. Nowak was the only doctor able to diagnose my FAI, it still required me to push him to run additional tests. He performed 2 surgeries, I still live with pain but he was not willing to help resolve the pain after surgery

Dr. Nowak diagnosed me with a torn meniscus and suggested surgery. I wound up having the surgery and as I was coming to I was informed by Dr. Nowak that my meniscus actually looked great so they didn't complete that portion of the operation. When I went for final my post-op I questioned how they could make that mis-diagnosis and Dr. Nowak was very defensive. At each appointment along the way I had told him and his team that in addition to knee pain I was having severe hip pain on the same leg - they had assured me that the hip pain was because of my altered gait due to the knee. When I mentioned my hip pain Dr. Nowak replied "if you had told me your elbow hurt should I have dropped everything and examined your elbow". I complained to a patient advocate who promised me a meeting to air my grievances. In the end, I got a letter summarizing their investigation that concluded, without mention of the fact that I didn't have a torn meniscus, that they had done a great job with my care.

Dr. Nowak performed an operation on my knee in the first part of February and I was able to return to work the next week. I work unloading tractor trailers. I was scheduled for six to eight weeks of therapy and I completed it in four weeks thanks to the great surgeon Dr. Nowak is. I am in my seventies, so for most people to return to their active life's is out of the norm I would think. Dr. Nowak I would recommend to anyone who wants to get their life back. Outstanding staff as well.

Dr. Novak is an incredibly talented surgeon. This year 2017 he successfully repaired my severed quad knee tendon and 6 months later a successful acromium decompression and slap lesion repair in my shoulder. He explained the procedures, was caring at all times including follow ups. He made it all look easy. And importantly he explained to me the importance of choosing a reputable and caring physical therapy venue. His expertise is second to none. We are fortunate to have such a talented surgeon.
