Dr Jenkins performed a Whipple Procedure on me 11 years ago. I had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and went to 4 different hospitals in 3 states for opinions. Every surgeon told me I needed a Whipple Procedure. A good friend, a general surgeon, insisted I see Dr Jenkins for an opinion. I met with him, and immediately I knew I wanted this man to do my surgery. Nine days later he cleared a spot to do my surgery. He is an amazing, skilled surgeon, who is such a kind, caring human being. I am on several Whipple Survivor groups, and I read about so MANY post surgical complications other people experienced. I had none! I attribute my complete recovery to the skills of this amazing surgeon.

R Jenkins is a unique star. He is not merely a great surgeon or doctor, but an exceptional man. He operated on my mother, and skillfully explained the whole procedure in detail to my family with clear compassion. Sadly, my mom died months later. Jenkins had the MICU call him through her last night. Minutes before she died, Jenkins entered the room. He touched my father's arm, and then mine, and stood for a few moments and left in silence. I'll never forget that gesture.
