Good doctor
Dr.Compendio has always been very supportive and kind to me. I’ve been seeing him for many years now. He always addresses my medication issues promptly or returns my calls. He is not a psychotherapist so he doesn’t address issues as a therapist would but as far as medication management, he has helped me a lot.

Stay away
The other reviews are correct, this is a person who should never have become a doctor.

Terrible communication skills!! Has offended me repeatedly by trivializing my problems. I have severe depression and he told me I wasn't motivated enough to treat it so I'm wasting his time. I had to get another doctor so I wouldn't waste his time anymore.

Horrible, I never had anyone in the medical field talk to me in the most disrespectful manner. He was incredibly rude when asking questions to him, trying to find the right medicine for me. Literally told me I was a waste of his time. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Horrible doctor-Made appt d/t new insurance. As I sat telling him my problem, he had the nerve to open text messages- smiling at a picture, then others. My (low dosage) med. for ADD, ran out bc of time lapse due to new insurance. I hate meds. But a little of this one is life changing as I can do my paperwork bc of it. I have dyslexia and ADD(if u have these you know how hard it is). Self employed, I explained I was starting to fail at my business and the panic and depression it was causing. I had brought a recent psych. Eval. Including testing He “didn’t need to read it bc he used his judgement”. In the end, he said the way I acted like I “needed” the med. told him I was “addicted”! Yes, doctor Compendio, I “need” the med., as a life long struggle with ADD and dyslexia- causes this. NO, I am not addicted and for several yrs before and after since my visit with you, I have had REAL doctors. I have never forgotten what you did, based on your poor judgement and negligence.

I have spent months under this doctors care and have nothing positive to report. His “bedside manner” is awful. If you are 1 minute late for an appointment he’s nasty with a snippy comment and extremely vindictive with lowering medication quantity. I spend 5 minutes with him each appointment. I was insulted at my last visit. I have had to be my own doctor continuously researching medication and the body. He’s not receptive to anything. I’m paying an astronomical fee for 5 minutes of this absolute horrible doctor’s time. I can’t even begin to fathom that people have positive things to say about him. I have witnessed the most horrific response to another patient’s mother where she wanted to speak to him regarding her underage sons medication and was told that he only had a 15 minute appointment and that’s not allotted into the time of the appointment. Absolutely disgusting!! He gets his medication information off of his laptop. Worst doctor. Rating: Don’t waste your 5 minutes or money.

I have had very poor experiences with Dr. Compendio. He has repeatedly prescribed me medication that I have been on in the past and had bad side effects with, this time it has messed up my kidneys and thyroid. At my most recent appointment with me, he started to read medications of his computer that I thought I was on and ask my how my appointment for a biopsy went. None of these were things I told him, and when he read me the DOB it turned out to be someone else completely.

Dr. Compendio was my favorite Psychiatrist at American Day partial hospitalization program in Exton, Pa. He was always listening to anything I had to discuss or ask, esp., medications whether prescribed by other psychiatrists there or by him. He even treated my allergic reactions and dealt with the offending drug immediately. He was knowledgeable, professional, kind and always had a genuine care and even a smile. Being so depressed and suicidal then, he helped me with lightening the load.

Dr. Compendio empathized with the situation that I'm currently in. He really seemed to care about me & was knowledgeable about the medicine he prescribed. Very pleased, because I don't trust easily!
