Dr. Chan takes time with his patients and will do all in his power to find a solution to a health problem. He is very skilled, educated, and compassionate. As a heart patient of over 50 years, I have found him to be at the vey top. I would recommend him to anyone, and I do.

Wait time
My appt time was 1030 am I was checked in at 1015 am had my device check right away then was put into a room at 1045 I was told there were a few patients a head of me and Dr. Chan would be with me shortly. At 1135 I came out of the room to check with the nurse to see what was taking so long Dr. Chang was in the office next to the nurses station and she let him know I was still waiting. I went back into the room waited another 15 mins then let the nurses and front desk I had been at the office since 1030 and it was now almost 1 pm. This is the second time this exact same thing has happened at his office and last time they still charged me for the visit even though I never saw the doctor. Will be looking for another cardiologist. I don’t mind waiting but 2.5 hours is a bit much

Best Doctor in Arizona
I have lived in several states with a history of a-fib and cardiac arrest. Been to many docs including Mayo Clinic. None of them could figure out how to treat me. None can compare to Dr. Chan. He literally saved my life. 7 people in my family have died from heart attacks. My sister’s Infraction was down to 9 %, requiring a heart transplant. Mine was down to 25%. Dr. Chan increased that by performing a series of ablations and inserted a pacemaker, thus keeping me out of arrhythmia, cardiac arrest and the need of a heart transplant. I read a few other reviews, most very favorable. I am dismayed to read things like, “He is a great doctor, but he takes too much time.” I would wait 8 hours to see him! It is ludicrous that they complain about this. This is their lives we are talking about. You wait longer at Costco! I get the same sense of security that I would get from my dad. He is gold whose value went up. If you are in need of a cardiologist/electrophysiologist, look no further. Read Le

Outstanding Doctor Look no further
Requiring clearance from a cardiologist because of his history of stroke to obtain a CDL to drive a truck my husband saw Dr. Chan. his man saved his life by discovering his need for a triple bypass, a defibrillator & a pacemaker. On occasion, I hear patients complaining about long waits. I tell them that it is well worth the wait. Why do they sit through a movie but become impatient waiting for an extraordinary doctor? I point out that that their lives are more important and that he is like kin. His entire staff is amazing and A1. His character flows down to and through them.HE LISTENS until he gets to the bottom of the problem and comes up with a successful game plan, one that is best to improve your health and quality of life. We have been to many doctors who rush us in and out and provide no answers. He is truly a living example of why it is so important to listen to help people. God help anyone who tries to blow out his candle of light and knowledge. We need more like Dr. Chan

Compassionate and caring doctor
Although the wait times are sometimes longer than expected, Dr Chan is one of the most compassionate doctors you will ever meet. Dr Chan does spend a lot of time with each new patient, he always listens carefully and always answers all your questions, explains all options, without ever making you feel like he is rushed to run to the next patient. And what a talented surgeon Dr Chan is. If you're needing one of the most gifted electrophysiologists in Arizona, then you've come to the right place. In reading some of these reviews, it seems like some new patients would prefer a doctor that is quicker, or has a staff that answers the phones faster, or has a better receptionist. Me? I want the best doctor, so I don't mind sometimes waiting an extra 30 minutes to see the doctor, or waiting an extra week or two to schedule an appointment.

I went in, saw a Dr who set me up to come back and get a heart monitor. The monitor stopped working within 2 days. I worked with the troubleshooter online and on the phone, to no avail. In a phone appointment, another Dr said he would like me to wear a monitor placed under the skin. I would be called for an appointment when my insurance approved. That was 4 months ago. I have left messages and emailed. I received a call to pay an outstanding bill, and I inquired again then. I could die waiting for a response.

Improved wait time for the BEST of cardiologists
Dr. Chan (along with his dedicated staff) are without peer. Both my wife and myself witnessed, firsthand, the medical expertise, professional care and compassion that my brother in law received from Dr. Chan for many years. When we moved to Arizona in 2017, the first thing we did was to sign on with Dr. Chan. YES-- he spends valuable time with each of his patients--explaining in understandable language, everything his patients need to know about their condition and available treatment. Dr. Chan stays current with the cutting edge of medical technology. He is a tireless and selfless servant to the medical profession.

He is a nice doctor after a horribly long wait. even with appointment wait times are 1-3 hours! He overschedules all the time and you wait or leave. I left. I found out a year later that the medicine he prescribed for me was inappropriate!

TOP DOC
Dr. Chan has literally saved my life. He has fantastic bedside manner and is always bc professional. He works so hard for his patients. He accepted me while I was on state insurance with no questions asked. He has helped me with proper meds when the ones I was on previously were making me pass out (hospital docs prescribed). He may have wait times because he is so thorough and complete with his patients. He always listens to my concerns and does what is needed for me ALWAYS. HE IS AN AWESOME DOC who truly cares for his patients and explains whatever is needed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.??

Dr Chan’s office is poorly managed. He is behind so often that they have to reschedule entire DAYS. He shows up late, spends way too much time talking above patients head about unrelated topics. His medical staff failed to return urgent calls around medication questions. They also filed a claim to insurance incorrectly causing a denial, preventing me from receiving adequate and timely care. They failed to appeal my case with sufficient evidence and just left my case hanging open with no follow up appointment. They prescribed a medication contraindicated for another medical condition, causing harm.

Dr. Chan’s office is just inconsiderate. I was in their office, waiting for an hour by the time I decided to leave. They move three patients ahead of me and it just wasn’t very professional. They have a $50 fee if you no-show your appointment, because they feel you should value their time. It would be nice if they did the same.

No. Dr Chan has way to many patients - a 3-4 hour wait time every time you have an appointment is ridiculous. He does not need my health issues to treat. Appears he has plenty of others who are willing to sit and wonder if you will actually hear from him. I’m still Waiting for test results from a week. I had a 10 am voice call scheduled with hum, it is now 9 pm- guess I got stood up by the good doctor. This is the poorest of patient care I have seen in a long time.

Dr. Chan is just the best. He explains everything in an easy to understand way. He is delightful and highly skilled physician. I can’t say enough good things about him. You will be lucky to have him as your doctor. The only drawback is that, since he is so kind and giving, he fits patients in to the office and the ER so your wait time in the office will probably be long, so just expect that and don’t complain. It will be worth it.

Because of frequent A-Fib with rapid heart rate and subsequent high blood pressure, I seriously thought my life was over... constantly in and out of hospitals, no quality of life. Then I met Dr. Chan...he performed cryo (freeze) ablation on my upper heart chambers two days ago. My heart is back in rhythm and I feel great for the first time in months! Talented and very compassionate...you couldn't ask for anything more!
