Satisfied patient
I have seen Dr Schmelzer for breast implants, fat removal from neck, and cosmetic injections. I’m pleased with the outcome of all of these procedures. His specialization in craniofacial surgery made me feel more comfortable with him performing cosmetic procedures around my eyes and on my neck. After my two surgical procedures, I’ve continued seeing Dr Schmelzer for cosmetic injections. He has extensive, high-quality surgical training and experience, a must for a plastic surgeon. He has always been informative, responsive and kind. I would recommend Dr Schmelzer and Selarom Plastic Surgery to friends.

I would never let anyone I know go to him
What stood out was his utter lack of respect toward his patient. He was the rudest man I ever talked to. If I didn’t agree with what he said I was interrupted. He thinks he’s gods great gift to surgery or something but yet my friend who just had a lift looks terrible, I was going to schedule mine but the way he has been treating her there is no way.

Please protect yourself it could save your life
Worst experience I’ve ever encountered with any type of medical practitioner or just honestly a human being. I really don’t understand how this man is still practicing. He puts on a great front in his consults but once he has your money you mean nothing to him. No post op care no calls to check on you. When you have a post op emergency Dr.Schmelzer will be out of the office so you have to get help elsewhere. My sutures busted open twice, he didn’t have time to see me. When I complained of pain he talked down to me, ridiculed and treated me less than human. PLEASE DON’T GO HERE!! My last visit he said I was fine and nothing was wrong with me, I left and the next day my surgical site started bubbling up with fluid, I became extremely sick. I had to be put on antibiotics due to a staph infection. This man dismissed me!! Said I was fine it was neuropathic pain. He is a danger and should not be doing surgery. I’m still having complications and am going in for corrective surgery.

Avoid Dr Schmelzer
Dr Schmelzer's office staff is extremely difficult to work with, and in particular his office manager (who apparently lives in Mexico and is unreachable?). AVOID this physician and office.

Devastated by Breast Lift Results
***EMAIL FOR PICS OR WITH ANY QUESTIONS My gmail is mschris72 I just loved and trusted Dr Schmelzer when I met him. (wrong reason to hire a surgeon) I wish I had asked to see pictures of his work on breasts - I've found out since they aren't his specialty. At my 1st visit, he told me he doesn't do reductions, only lifts. Then the day of surgery, while marking my body, he said he wanted to make them smaller for my comfort. (I was thrilled) Now, 18 mos. post-op & after a revision, I have one nipple that's almost an inch higher than the other & one areola that's 2x the size of the other. I have to wear very padded bras so you can't see my crooked nipples through my clothes. I cry frequently and have lost my confidence. I honestly feel like a freak show when I see my bare breasts. It's taken me forever to even write this review because I really liked the doctor so much and feel guilty. Also, I paid $4000 extra to have a tummy tuck & breast lift same day. The tummy tuck was ok.

Dr. Schmelzer did an incredible job removing a cyst from the back of my head. He was professional, courteous, and made me feel confident and comfortable during the procedure. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing craniofacial or general plastic surgery.

Dr Schmelzer is the best at taking care of his patients. He truly cares about them. He is especially great with kids. His skills and talents pale to none when it comes to his cranial and facial repairs. I highly recommend him to everyone .

We've been with Dr. Schmelzer a little over 6 years and do not regret it. He has performed amazing work on our son and we can't thank him enough. He is the only doctor that our son is willing and happy to see which says a lot for our boy. I recommend Dr. Schmelzer and his team to everyone I come across.

I’ve never been so dismissed or talked down to by a doctor. I came into his office for my son to be evaluated, he stormed in and asked me a few questions in a condensending manner - dismissing why I’m in even his office. I could hardly believe it and felt embarrassed (even though I had no reason to be, we were there as a referral from our pediatrician). He told me there’s nothing wrong with my son and walked out. Just walked out. It was so so strange.

Dr Schmelzer & the team were very attentive to our concerns, explained things in ways that helped us understand what the next steps in our treatment were, the reason for their recommendations & outcomes of different scenarios. We left our appt with a clear direction of what to do next. Dr. Schmelzers team worked collaboratively to address a successful treatment plan & ongoing care for my 2 cleft kiddos. I feel that the best course of action was agreed upon quickly through a unified team approach

My daughter had torticollous and ended up with moderate/severe plagiocephaly (flat head). She had a helmet for 6 months (growth spurts were slow). My son, due to torticollous, has a mild flat spot and he will get a helmet. Dr. Schmelzer is the BEST at what he does. He came to us HIGHLY recommended. My daughters plagiocephaly effected her forehead, her ears, and the back of her head. Now, you would never know she had a problem. He was professional and worked so hard in the interest of my child.

The most unprofessional/dishonest practice! My daughter did a cranial helmet with Dr. Schmelzer for plagiocephaly- flat head. He removed it prematurely, without asking about developmental milestones. Later he admitted the only form of regression is from developmental delays. She was delayed but he didnt take time to ask before it had gotten worse and was too late to fix. He said her hair will cover it anyway..didnt pay $1800 for that. They agreed to a refund but will not pay or return calls.
