Dr. Roberto Ferraro, MD

The way this doctor single-handedly ruined my husbands health is shocking. He gaslit my husband into having HIFU, without taking into account the size of his prostate which was large by gram standards. My husband then had urinary retention and this led to 23 trips and 6 surgeries to fix what Dr. Ferraro broke. He didn’t get the prostate out, my husband still had a PSA level which showed cancer. A very long 9 hour surgery later after a year of a Supra public catheter and he is now cancer free thanks to MUSC. He used a local plastic surgery clinic to do the HIFU which didn’t have a working blood pressure cuff and I kid you not the emesis basin the nurse handed him was a plastic breast container- from women having breast augmentation surgery. When they brought me back to see my husband they had another patient up in the stirrups- no drapes over the surgical area so I saw everything about this man who was anesthetized. I can’t make it up. Having Dr. Ferraro do my husband’s surgery cost us so much money. Astounding. He should never practice again. When he messed up he told my husband he should just retire, that was his answer. Not sure we will recover anytime soon to the horrific things don’t to him.

I have been to 3 different urologists at Atlantic Urology. One of them operated on my Bladder twice in a little over a month. Only problem with him is he does not spend any time with you explaining what your problem is and what he is going to do. After the second operation I went into his office for a post op meeting. Dr. Ferraro has treated both me and my husband with the utmost respect and care for our well- being. He takes the time to explain things thoroughly and is a very compassionate doctor. We highly recommend him!

My appointments with Dr Ferraro end up in the hands of a PA. I pay to see a specialist, but don't get a real doctor. Never seen Dr Ferraro !!

Dr. Ferraro canceled 3 Consecutive appointments and "didn't know when he would be in the office again," even though he knew I had kidney stones. Incompetent with no concern for his patients. Go to ANYBODY else!

Dr Roberto Ferraro performed a Radical Perineal Prostatectomy on Me on 10.22.2017. From the initial interview and the surgery and the follow up were done to my complete satisfaction. I credit Dr Ferraro for saving my life. I highly recommend him for the best treatment of prostate cancer.

Doctor Ferraro and his team are an example of professionalism, dedication and constant concern for the patient. Highly recommended as a professional and as a human being.

It was years ago (2002) but he was kind, calm, explained things well, calmed my fears.

Referred by primary care, Diagnosed and treated cancer and elected active surveillance as follow up. When x-ray results indicated need for an additional CT scan, his office failed to secure pre-authorization from insurance. Test had to be cancelled, which along will the unsuccessful struggle to solve the issue was extremely stressful. He himself was unresponsive to multiple messages. Had to find another provider. His skills are OK, but he's also arrogant and it's not worth dealing with his incompetent staff. Find another Dr.

I have been his patient for 12 years and I trust him wholeheartedly. When I needed prescriptions renewed his office has always done it promptly. I usually request it online and they respond very fast. I give him credit for saving my life twice and through it all he did excellent work, had a very caring attitude, and did anything he could do for me. I consider him a friend at this point. I highly recommend him.

He used to be great. Not so much anymore. Very distracted and disinterested. Staff has declined over the years. I don't think there are any nurses there, even though they call themselves nurses. He is definitely more interested in his leisure activities than his patients. He loves to talk about his wife, his kids, hunting and boating. I have had enough.

My father is his patient. Poor communication between Dr. Ferraro and the other providers in the office. My father makes his appointment to see Dr. Ferraro but ends up seeing someone else. Consistency would be appreciated. There is a lot of casual and jovial chatter going on in the office. Dr. Ferraro has appeared sympathetic when dealing with my father but this culture is insensitive. Dr. Ferraro needs to get a handle on his staff as well as the banter. It is unprofessional.

Seems competent enough but I routinely wait weeks for refills and have to call multiple times to make sure it gets done
