Great G.I
After 7 year long battle of trying to find out what my son had at CHLA I asked his pediatrician to send my son to Dr.Tran did a couple test and within the second visit he was finally diagnosed with gastroparesis and gastritis and was prescribed medication and even helped us make a plan to help him with flare ups . It’s been a tough battle to make him feel ok due to the gastroparesis flares but I can honestly say dr Tran helped us so much. So happy that we didnt give up and that Dr.Tran tests diagnose my boy.

Excellent GI doctor who listens.
Dr Robert Tran has been a great GI doctor for my daughter. He takes the time to listen to her problems and does the right tests to get a diagnosis. So far since starting treatment my daughter has thrived.

Dr. Tran might be a good fit for someone who has regular GI issues. We went to Dr. Tran for my son because he has had stomach issues on/off for several years. Dr. Tran had him take a "breath test" where he breathes into a machine to test for bacteria in his stomach. Dr. Tran said my son didn't have a bacteria issue. Eventually we went to another GI doctor. When they looked at the results of Dr. Tran's test, it showed "normal" but when our new doctor looked at the data, apparently my son's "bacteria level" was so high at the beginning of the test, that it didn't really matter that his levels didn't rise as the test was administered. If Dr. Tran had looked at the DATA of the test, and not just the bottom line, my son would have been given meds earlier and been out of pain a LONG time ago. The new GI doctor gave my son Rifaximin and within a few days he was better.

My child went to Dr. Tran (1760 Termino Avenue) for 7 years. We described that my child had agonizing stomach pain, esophogus hurt, always sick, lots of ear infections, and very gassy (but can't burp). Dr. Tran did an endoscopy and lots of tests and found nothing. He had my child taking acid reducers for YEARS, which seemed to make it worse, but we were supposed to keep taking them. I found out that acid reducers shouldn't ever be taken unless you have done a Heidelberg Gastric Analysis (Out of all the tests Dr. Tran did, he never had us do this one). consequences of taking acid reducers when you don't need it: malnutrition, early onset Alzheimers, and other scary things, etc. After a LOT of research, I found that most acid reflux is from too low of stomach acid and not too high of stomach acid. We took him off all Dr. Tran's meds and started him on Betaine HCL with Pepcin and he feels great in ONE DAY. So simple. Why didnt Dr. Tran know tell us this?!!!

Dr Tran always listens to what you have to say. My granddaughter was in the hospital with complications from being a premature baby. Dr Tran listened and was very caring. The only doctor who listened and was able to diagnose her. I’m so blessed to have him as a doctor for my granddaughter

My daughter was born with a milk protein allergy and I consulted with Dr. Tran on that as well as her reflux issues. As time went on she had trouble gaining weight and Dr. Tran again had some great suggestions for us that were considerably more helpful than the nutritionist we were referred to. Last year my daughter was having stomach issues and Dr. Tran discovered C.Diff on the first visit. Our pediatrician had completely overlooked that. He is a wonderful doctor and I am so thankful for him.
