He often doesn't have any clue what treatment I've received in the past even though he was taking notes. He seems to lose the notes or write down something completely different then what he is saying. When I've ran out of medication he has told me I need to plan ahead better, but I notified his office a week out and they didn't send it in time. The office is hard to get ahold of. They close at around 5 Monday through Thursday and once it's Friday they won't help you with anything. He is forgetful and seems to have some mild dementia. He has gas lit me a few times about stuff which is extra bad as he's treating people with mental health issues. He is however very knowledgeable about medicine and mental health and I'm sure at one time he was a great doctor. All of this having been said I recommend a different doctor that can be more available to help you to help!

First doctor I’ve had tell me I’m fine and I don’t need to take a mental health leave from work during an extreme down. Drove straight to the mental ward and got actual help after that. Never coming back to Stauffer after this.

Dr Stauffer doesn't just prescribe medication. He wants to know about you. He asks you about everything going on in your life not just your mind. Because there are other things that can contribute to ADHD, depression & anxiety, etc he wants to make sure you are being treated properly. He suggested a good probiotic for me. When I mentioned my primary care wanted to do a sleep study and I could afford it he recommended a Neurologist. His staff is friendly & tries to accommodate whenever possible.

1st visit, 1st impression: He informed us that our son has been over medicated for ADHD by his primary care physicians over the last couple years. Minor changes in our sons medications has resulted in lower qty and lower dosage and my son seems to be doing better.

Great dr. Getting harder and harder to find actual MD''s in psychiatry. Most are nurse's with p.h d.''s. Dr Stauffer listens to me when I talk, he doesn't dismiss what I say like so many other 'prescribers' will. He respects me just like I respect him. This Dr has changed my life for the better 10 fold and I am in great debt to him for that.
