Excellent Physician
Dr. Scharfman is a wonderful Opthamologist who cares for his patients. He quickly diagnoses the issue and resolves it. I always get an emergency appointment when I need it. The staff is kind and caring as well. Great office experience for years.

caring professional treatment, wonderful results
I was treated with consideration and respect. Everything explained thoroughly. I was somewhat nervous before the procedure and Dr. Scharfman and staff addressed and calmed my issues. My recuperation was quick and easy and my vision is wonderful and I no longer use eyeglasses.

zero empathy
i’ve been going to this doc for over 5 years and each yearly visit gets worst and worst. one visit he said why are traveling from NY to see me?, he has zero empathy about my diabetes & bedside manner. he drew out a chart of how long i’ve been a diabetic and at what age ill be become blind then die. when i asked about this newly found condition he told me to search the internet. AFTER leaving the appointment the office called me stating they forgot to charge me 75 dollars for contacts fitting which i never asked for. i would love for my message to be heardthis office will never see my face again. i rather travel hours away to see my childhood doctor. thank you dr shafman! you can live a miserable life but you can not make my life miserable

The worst service I ever received in the medical office. I made an appointment to a doctor for June 20th 2023. When I arrived, the front deck representative asked if I received a cancelation message or a call from the office since the doctor is not in the office. When I said I didn’t, she said that I “misunderstood” and the appointment is for July 20th, not June 20th. She also said that they record all of the appointment requests, but did not provide any evidence of this record. There is no misunderstanding from my side, since I wrote the appointment date in the calendar immediately as soon as I received it. Exactly the same thing happened to my husband a year ago. He had a scheduled appointment, but when he arrived he was told that his appointment is a month away and they also called it “misunderstanding”. I will not go to this office again as the support staff is irresponsible, arrogant and disrespectful.

Highly professional. I have both of my eyes cataracts surgery done by the doctor. I was amazed after surgery if it has been done or not. No pain or any kind of problem. Even I was able to see immediately through the holes of eye cover perfectly. Now I do not need even eyeglasses. Highly recommended.

I have been with dr Scharfman for fifteen years. He is skilled ,compasionate and Dedicated. During the worse wk of covid he came to the office for me when the building was basically closed. Recently,He removed both my cataracts and its amazing how much better my vision is . My retina specialist looked at my eyes and said he did a beautiful job. I am so very grateful. The women who run the office are so kind and helpful.

I like to thank Dr. Scharfman and his passionate team at their Old Bridge practice for their awesome service to me. I consulted with Dr. Scharfman for removing cataract from both my eyes. The entire experience of removing my natural lenses and replacing them with IOL from start-to-finish was beyond satisfactory, exceptional. My vision is great and with no effects whatsoever from after the procedure. Dr. Scharfman ensured that I had every pertinent information and guidance every step of the way

I called up as a new patient to make an appointment. I only have one primary insurance and was told on the phone by an offIce clerk named Gina that I would be responsible for the other 20 percent that day . I asked her how would she know what the 20 percent I would owe is until the insurance paid the first 20 percent . She went on to say that even though I was referred by a long time patient, they couldn’t anything. Who bills you remainder before your insurance pays? Rude phone service !

I can't say enough about Dr. Schaefman and his staff at Atlantic Medical. I called up asking to come in for a last minute emergency visit and they said to come right down. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I felt right at home. Dr. Scharfman was very attentive and thorough, he took care of me immediately and made sure that I understood everything, even making sure that my prescriptions were available immediately. If you're looking for excellent eye care, look no further.

Went to the doctor with a referral for one procedure. Office staff asked general questions about my eyes which were truthfully answered. So before I knew what was going on, doctor did eye exam in addition to referred procedure without prior informing me. I did not ask for eye exam since I can get it for free at different doctor with another insurance I have. Doctor also performed procedures as part of the eye exam that are considered experimental and that not covered by insurance.
