Dr Schanzer’s analytical skills are laudable. My first visit was thorough and he was patiently answering all my questions.Furthermore he asked if all my queries were answered. This is a rarity.I am-happy the way the issue was seen and addressed. His staff and the technician make you feel comfortable and are compassionate

He was recommended by a friend so I’m sure he is a good doctor. Unfortunately I will never know. We arrived today for an appointment and I opened my wallet to take out my card, as I was told in advance they don’t accept our insurance. I was willing to dig deep into my wallet for my husband’s health and agreed to pay out of pocket, but once we arrived - after a one-hour drive - we were told they only accept checks or cash, no credit cards. Not even major ones. Huh? Nice of them to tell us this over the phone when we set up the appointment, or even when they called yesterday to confirm. And of course no ATM on the property, for those who don’t walk around with half a grand in cash. Not that I’d expect it, but what established business doesn’t take cards these days, much less a medical office? Also, they loudly asked for my husband’s name as he walked in, with other patients sitting there. No privacy. If that doesn’t violate HIPPA, it at least flies in the face of common sense.

If you want to die from lack of care, I suggest Dr. Schanzer. Apparently, he doesn't know how to read an EKG test because my father has a totally useless tricuspid valve that Schanzer NEVER INFORMED HIM ABOUT. Thank god he went to Deborah for a second opinion, which the EKG TECHNICIAN caught the valve issue within minutes (she ran to grab the doctor to inform her). My father was swollen and completely full of fluid and was so swollen due to heart failure that they couldn't even insert a catheter to help relieve himself, but Dr. Schanzer just told him to take the water pill three times a day, instead of two. And this isn't only an issue with Dr. Schanzer; it is also with JFK Medical Center, which is where the doctor has privileges. There was a complete healthcare system failure in my father's situation. But, it starts with his cardiologist. The biggest mistake of my father's life is thinking this doctor knew what he was doing. Dr. Schanzer should be ashamed of himself for the absolute

Dr Schanzer is a gem. He truly cares about his patients and never rushes in and out, like some doctors do. I also feel that he is very knowledgeable, calm, and not an alarmist. I like that. I wish more doctors were like Dr Schanzer.

Dr is nice but the staff is awful and unprofessional . Be ready to wait for over 2 hrs after you arrive for your appointment. I have been back and rescheduled 3 times and still they make you wait for 2 hrs or more. The worst!
