Not so happy
What stood out on our visit was the fact that we saw a Dr Hines first at Engel Otho when my husband had just come the day before from Pender Novant. I was disappointed because Dr Rodger’s is surgical; not pain management. So my husband suffered while the meds they prescribed did Nothing for him. We ask for a pain mgt referral and his office gave him a physical therapy appt a month out and he is slump over in a wheel chair in their office in plain sight hurting.

Dr Rodgers is outstanding because he cares
I stay with Dr. Rodgers because he cares and takes time to show or explain what is medically wrong with you. He also recommends treatment for you that he feels has a high success rate, he is not just operating for his or the company financial gain. I will say some of the staff seems stressed or maybe overloaded because it is a busy practice, but I would appreciate more attention to detail especially when I am describing my issues.

Rarely wait, staff is friendly & efficient,
Prepared with MRI and report, and seeing me after 2 surgeries in '23, he suggested further pain management in new problem area, avoiding surgery for now! I'm 76 and I trust him immeasurably. He listens!

Disc replacement and fusion
Over 4 years ago, I blew out a disc in my back. After numerous injections, that never worked, and a nerve ablation , that also didn't work, I was referred to Dr. Rodger. He is short and to the point, but was very confident and made me feel at ease. He performed surgery on me on 9-20-2023. After a year of recovery, I am doing much better. While I still have back pain and always will, the symptoms are much better. I can function daily without the intense pain I was in.I do feel that he somewhat dismissed some of my concerns that I brought up at my last appointment, left leg and foot go numb often and shooting pains from the new disc area going up, but at the same time, I realize there isn't much else he can do to help me. Pain is there and I'll always deal with some of it, but again, I can function somewhat normally as compared to before. Dr. Rodger isn't going to spend much time talking. He'll get right to the point and doesn't sugarcoat things, which I very much appreciate.
