Dr. Robert Orava, MD

Dr Orava was dismissive, told me I had a strain in my leg. I later discovered I had a ruptured Achilles tendon, and developed a DVT blood clot from the injury. My recovery would have been better and faster had I been properly diagnosed.

Would not recommend this Dr to anyone. Was told test results were good and they weren't. This could have been life threatening!

My mom was seen in the ER yesterday and was told she had COVID. This doctor gave her a steroid knowing it would make her blood sugar rise and that she has diabetes. He knew she hasn’t been able to take her meds because of not being able to keep them down (she would take them and throw them right back up). He told us that her blood sugar would be elevated for a few days. Within hours of that she was 10times worse. Not realizing and putting the medicine and her diabetes together (really well controlled never has an issue) I thought she was having a heart attack. I’ve never seen my mom like this before and she has never cried in pain before, it killed me. I talked my mom into going to a different hospital where we were told she was in DKA, and could have died at anytime and this doctor was very negligent in what he did. She is now admitted into the ICU receiving much better care. This doctor almost killed my mother, and we will be filing a lawsuit and letting medical board know.
