Misdiagnosed
If I could give a lower rating, I would. After years of complaining about shortness of breath and hospitalizations for Acute respiratory failure, Dr McDonald consistently blamed my weight. After insisting on a referral to UCSF Pulmonology, he stated that I definitely did not have Interstitial Lung Disease or any permanent damage to my lungs but would refer me. I received a certified letter from Dr McDonald within a few days, stating that since I no longer trusted him, I was no longer welcome at his practice. After appointments with UCSF Pulmonology and a UCSF Thoracic surgeon, I am told that I definitely do have Interstitial Lung Disease, with pulmonary fibrosis. I am now awaiting advice as to whether a surgical lung biopsy (which they wanted to do) is too risky or whether their surgeon that does lung transplants will do the surgery.

Uh ... no. I strongly advise against this doctor. He has zero bed side manner and discounts anything you say. You walk out thinking you have 2 months to live.
