I would highly recommend Dr. Marchand to anyone.
Everyone that I dealt with at the Warwick office was fabulous. Beginning with the texts that I received to prepare me for my surgery, to the nurses, to he anesthesologist, and the surgery by Dr. Marchand was extremely professional and thorough. As a matter of fact, I have told my twin brother about Dr Marchand and he is hoping that the doctor will see him soon to diagnosis his ailing knee. Great experience. This is the second partial knee replacement surgery that Dr. Marchand has done on my knees. As I sit here typing, I hardly know that I had this operation just about 24 hours ago. Thank you Dr, Marchand.

The best orthopedic surgeon in RI.
Dr. Marchand is amazing and has changed my life from someone who wheelchair bound to having an active life again. He has helped several people I know using state of the art technology and superior surgical ability.

Now I realize how horrible he was. After two TKR by him on the same knee within one year, second due to error in fitting me properly, I have had nothing but pain in both knees. He wanted me to do both knee replacements at the same time. I just found out my right knee has an old injury ruptured patella tendon he never found (therefore could not have done TKR at the same time which luckily I declined) and nerve impingement on the left leg he did the TKR twice which will require surgery to correct. My new doctor diagnosed and recommended tests in one visit in which he spent one hour with me- not 5 minutes like Dr. Marchand. New doc did a nerve conduction test and an MRI of the other knee- none of which Marchand did to finally discover the problem. All Marchand offered was "I don't know what is wrong; get a second opinion". Really???

I had a total knee replacement. Dr. Marchard was very good explaining to me what had to be done. He was in no hurry. His bedside manners are great. He takes the time to listen to your issues.I was back on my feet within 4 weeks. No pain. I recommend him to anybody who needs a knee replacement.

This doctor is vastly overrated. If your surgery goes well you’re good. If you have any complication and request return visits you are lucky to get to see him within a few months rather than the PA. I did 2 surgeries with him. After a problematic second surgery (arthroscopic surgery) I asked about a procedure he routinely does (gel shots) and was told to “get a second opinion”. I asked what his opinion was before I got a second and he had no answer. He had his hand on the door knob the entire 3 minute visit as was typical of him - a man of few words- and clearly could not be bothered. I am a cancer survivor and not your typical quick fix which is clearly what he wants. Clearly in it primarily for the money. Spends most days doing surgeries and has increasingly left little time for followup office visits. If you are looking for a caring surgeon who will go the extra mile if you need him AFTER the surgery look elsewhere. He’s basically done with you after he operates. Horrible.

Last visit after a bad knee replacement he did he looked at me and said no more I can do but replace it again but there is so much scar tissue he did not know if that would help. So he said no more I can do keep in touch. He had given me a handy cap plate for the last 3 years and now says he can’t renew it see your own doctor. I asked why he’s not the one that caused me to need one it was you.

Dr. Marchand performed a total hip replacement for me in March, 2018. After surgery, I used the walker for about a week. Had very good mobility soon after surgery and very little pain. Seven weeks post op and back to all my normal activities. Dr. Marchand, his staff and South County Hospital are excellent!

Dr Marchand is not what all the raves are about. Where are the unhappy reviews? I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone after the experience my family member had with him.

Dr. Marchand gave me my life back! No surgeon would touch my hip replacement but at my 1st apt we scheduled surgery, I had THR 3 wks later, got married 3 wks post-op (walked unaided down the aisle, now 4 months post-op I'm better than ever! Everything about the process was fantastic. The office staff is first rate, everyone is so compassionate. I can not say enough about how fantastic this whole process was for me. I also can't thank Dr. Marchand enough!
