Dr. Mansfield was doing his fellowship at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh in 1991 when our daughter was placed in the PICU hours after her birth. She was placed on ECMO, which was fairly new at the time. He was a breathe of fresh air in a terrible time for our family. He was caring, attentive, and spent time actually drawing pictures in order for us to understand what was going on. I'd love to be able to get in touch with him again. He even came to our daughter's first birthday party, and visited her at home after her release. One of a kind, for sure! The Smelscer family Mars, PA

Dr Msnsfield cared for my daughter when she had pertussis. She was only three months old at that time and was a premie baby. Dr Mansfield wad the only Dr to correctly diagnose her condition. He is a credit to the medical profession.

Many years ago, Dr. Mansfield was my daughter's doctor at the PICU at Stony Brook Med. Center. He went above and beyond the call o duty, coming in to the hospital in the middle of the night, giving her medications that the other doctors disagreed with, until he proved that they worked, and finding me to make sure that I was OK. He has held a special place in our hearts all these years as the doctor who saved my daughter's life, against all odds!
