Excellent Cardiologist
Dr. MacDonald did a heart cath on me at the hospital. He determined my problem, thoroughly explained the issues to my husband and me, even provided a picture that showed us what he was talking about. He was very professional with a great bedside manner. I was prescribed medication that is helping and referred me to cardiac rehab to help me recover and stay healthy in the future. My next appointment is in six months.

PLEASE DO NOT BE SEEN BY THIS DOCTOR. Bedside manners are TERRIBLE (Plowing into room, unanswered questions, “I don’t know” responses and guessing, walks out of unfinished visit etc) It is important to accept a specialist who is respectful, knowledgeable and selfless, therefore, choose your care wisely.

Do not see this provider
I was recommended by a close friend who is a lot older by like 30 years, to see Dr. Macdonald. I waited an hour in the room even to see him. First was his RN then a med student. I believe he felt that because I am young I just would not have any issues. He examined me just as a regular MD would. And focused on 1 symptom I had out of about 10 that I mentioned. He stated that passing out is very common and that all I had was Vasovagal syncope. Which I am aware of what that is as I am in school for medical myself currently. The problem is, passing out was not my only issue. And this has been ongoing for many years which signals a problem. All he did was send in a prescription to be filled and he did state it may make things worse. Which I am not taking. Here is an idea, how about run a test or two to make sure there isn't any issues? Instead of prescribe a pill when you don't know me, didn't pay any attention to my 10 symptoms nor that this has been ongoing for years. Not a good practice.

Dr McDonald -be very afraid for your life
Worst visit I’ve ever had w/ a HC provider. I was herded in & out like cattle through a cattle shoot. He showed complete lack of concern for the issues I was having- though most I never got to share with him, & he even responded very unprofessionally to me in several instances. I would never recommend this doctor or this group because they treat you like a number and not a patient. Shall I tell you they put me on a monitor, & 3 days later, while in a severe event, I learned the monitor was not reporting my submissions! They didn’t even take time to check & see if my monitor was working. When I called in & tried to get through to the doctor or his nurse, I was treated with such distain that it was ridiculous. I had to debate w/ Reception that I even needed to speak to somebody. I had to have a debate with her about what I was trying to explain because she was just half listening to me. I ended up in the ER at Mary Black for proper care. Going to new group 7:7.22

1st visit today (Feb. 19), Dr. MacDonald was impressive, not only in treatment suggestions, but also with the time he spent asking questions and checking all my med history on computer. He will personally attend my stress test soon, reducing my mental stress.

I don't know what worse, Dr. MacDonald's lack of proffessionalism or the billing offices ability to send a bill. The doctor never took his eyes off of his computer, the whole time I was there. It was a different doctor every time and the heart monitor never worked even after the company sent replacement. Total waste of time and money. The billing department send me a new charge every couple of months. WON'T ever go back.
