Dr. Robert Kung, MD

I have seen Dr. Kung for multiple consultations and endoscopic procedures. He is very knowledgeable and professional in his assessments, while also taking every available opportunity to explain and offer reassurances regarding procedures. He has a keen mind for good data, and has gently critiqued misconceptions or assumptions I may have come across elsewhere (e.g. the internet). At the same time, he is open-minded and always considering each patient as an individual, willing to acknowledge and work around my unique circumstances and treatment preferences. He stands out in my experience as an exceptional doctor, and I am truly grateful for his care.

During the worst of Covid I suffered extremely painful GI condition. Dr. suggested I go to ER but after discussion Dr Kung was able to triage and treat me remotely and keep me out of an overburdened ER and safe from Covid. He listened to my questions, ordered stat scans, and help tailor treatment to my allergies and intolerances. He would have preferred I go to ER but worked with me when I resisted. I healed up under his care and look forward to having him solve my other GI issues in the future. I hope he will remain as respectful and knowledgable going forward. Kaiser physicians are always rushed and often don’t answer questions or can be rude and insulting. Dr. Kung was pressed for time but not rude or cocky which I appreciated greatly. I value good dialogue between patient and Dr. and Felton he excelled at that.
