I can't thank Dr Ference enough! I have had two successful total knee replacements, both with uneventful and complete recoveries. Last week, 10 months after my last surgery, I travelled pain and assistance free for the first time since 2017. Dr Ference's level of skill, attention, and compassion is unmatched.

Highly recommend Dr. Ference for any Orthopedic issue. I had 4 Orthopedic Surgeons, including 1 myself, family & friends had been seeing over 25 years, all turn me away because I'm high-risk. I desperately needed knee replacement, had fallen and broke my kneecap completely in half.Left the last appointment, googled Orthopedic Surgeon works with high risk patients. Dr. Ference came up in the search. Googling more on Dr. Ference, seeing how highly other patients spoke of him, I made my appointment. I have a stent behind the knee that needed replacement, on blood thinners and can't be treated post op like others. I had issues with severe swelling, as I can't wear compression or ice it at all.On Super Bowl Sunday, 2 weeks after surgery I had swollen so bad the incision opened up. Had huge blood blisters, swelling down the side of my leg. Contacted him and his reply was how soon can you be at my office? He opened to take care of me vs the ER. Most compassionate Dr you will find.

I've had 14 major surgeries in my right knee. I saw several surgeons before meeting Dr. Farence and he knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it immediately! And now, 3 years later, he saved my patellar tendon and fixed a crooked knee replacement from a prior surgeon. He's also the most kind and genuine human being who truly only cares about helping his patients, which is rare in this day and age. I can't recommend him highly enough!!

Dr. Ference is a PHENOMENAL Orthopedic Surgeon & we are SO BLESSED to have him in our lives!! He gave my mom her life & independence back in her 60's when she could barely walk by doing a bilateral knee replacement when no one else would even consider it, & is now giving her a new lease on life with her 1st hip replacement in her 80's. I had a unique accident years ago on my left leg, over time a hip replacement, broken femur, bursas, it happened to my left leg. A new injury due to the upper tendon & muscle detaching & Dr. Ference who examined me, knew my medical history since he did all the fixing on my leg prior. He spent days, weekends, and performed a miracle. My leg is healing after surgery, and I cannot even think what to say other than Dr Ference is some kind of genius. In a world full of Dr's in it for the money, he's all about patient care. God put me in his path, and I suggest if you want a Dr who cares about YOU, call his office.

I have traveled from PA to MI twice to have both of my knees replaced by Dr. Robert Ference, and it has been more than worth the expense and time away from home. Not only does he use a minimally invasive procedure called Stryker MAKOplasty that is not an option in the area where I reside, but he was one of the first orthopedic surgeons nationwide to begin utilizing the process over 20 years ago. I did lots of research and talked to hundreds of people that have had their knee(s) replaced and not one has expressed having an experience with as little pain and a faster recovery than mine. Dr. Ference is also very personable, empathetic and responsive, and communicates directly with his patients via cell phone and text, something I have never experienced or heard of in my life. What impresses me the most about Dr. Ference is that he is a man of strong faith. He credits God for having gifted him and his hands to heal and work miracles on people and he prayed with me before each surgery.

Dr. Ference goes above and beyond for his patients in his care. He ensures the highest quality of surgery, care, and bedside manner. Dr. Ference has not only performed successful surgeries to get me back on my feet, but also to get my other family members back on their feet too. He has become like a member of our family. You will not be disappointed having Dr. Ference as your surgeon. He is beyond professional, beyond caring, and a genuine person. That can be a rare find in the medical field.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Ference as a surgeon and as a human. Between my knee and shoulder, he has done several surgeries on me. This last time, he truly worked a miracle on my shoulder. First, let me say that Dr. Ference has a way of calming the nerves and soul. I have an anxiety disorder and from the moment I met Dr. Ference he put me at ease. I have never worried that he would not do all he could to restore me to complete health. His kindness and quiet confidence led me to believe that my joints would restored without any difficulty. After the surgery, Dr. Ference came by to check on me and was always quietly encouraging me to get up and moving. He has always had my best interest at heart.

Dr Ference is the most compassionate Dr ever. He’s available twenty four hours , seven days a week. He’s the last of a dying breed. He saw me on Sunday !! He fixed my knee, shoulder and wrist. I was involved in a car accident in 1972, at the age of 18. I tore the cartilage, & had surgery to remove it & went on with my life. Years later I tore the ACL. I visited an orthopedic surgeon (in another state) who said to me “You’re a woman, why do you need to do anything more than just walk”. In 1991, I tore the cartilage again in that knee. I found a great surgeon & he fixed both issues. With bone on bone for so many years, as I aged, my knee swelled and gave me a lot of pain. Finally at the age of 54, I’d had enough. I found Dr Ference & he performed a total knee replacement. My recovery was quick, although I experienced pain for a whole year afterwards. I’ve never had problems with it, & have remained active; golf, water skiing, walking, bike riding, etc. Dr Ference & his staff treated me very well. I also have to say, my brief stay in the hospital was exemplary. Thank you Dr Ference for the best treatment I’ve ever had.

I had two knee replacements procedures with Dr. Robert Ference last year. My new knees are unbelievable as I am playing pickleball, bike riding, hiking 4 miles and gardening. No pain and great range of motion and flexibility. I would highly recommend this doctor for a knee replacement. He has done thousands of theseprocedures. I think he is well beyond practicing. Beyond being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Ference is by far, the most compassionate doctor of any specialty that I have ever encountered. He is truly a gifted physician and man. He has done two knee replacements for me and both times has gone above and beyond throughout the process to be sure, I had the best care, was comfortable and knowledgeable with the process. I had reservations about surgery since I had never had any. I needed my L- rotator cuff repaired and he made me so comfortable during the entire process. He is very compassionate about his work and patients. My scar and pain was very minimal.
