Unfortuneately, he likes to hear himself talk rather then listen to his patients. He was an hour and 15 minutes late coming into the exam room for my appointment. I had been referred by another cardiologist for confirmation of aortic insufficiency esablished by numerous tests and 2 other cardiologists. He refuted my condition ratings and said I couldn't die from a leaking aortic valve. Then he wanted to schedule me for a test which I tried to tell him I had just had less than a week ago but he just talked over me. Really npleasant and full of himself. So sad. I won't be going back.

Rude and Arrogant
Dr. Duerr was the most rude arrogant doctor that I have ever had the misfortune to meet. He told me that I had no business calling a doctor anytime I had chest pains or going to an emergency room with chest pains. I had been having chest pains on and off for several weeks and they had started to be more frequent and daily. I had had a stent put in my heart 6 months prior and was sceduled for an cardio angiogram by another doctor who was not available that day. This was as the result of an er visit and with severe chest pains. Dr. Duerr insinuated that I was wasting his time. Horrible man, I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. As a result, I question his assessment after my test.

saved my life. I had an occlusion of the "widow maker" vessel and one stent was put in by another doc in the clinic. discharged him after 3 days and that night got chest pain. Back to the ER and an ambulance ride to the main hospital and Dr. Duerr but in three more stents. He is very good at what he does. Thanks doc!

I'm a retired Orthopedic surgeon maintaining excellent fitness and diet but suffering from bad genetics. I presented to the ER suffering a 100% LAD (Widowmaker) occlusion. Dr Duerr saved my life with an emergent cath and LAD stent, along with 7 defibrillations. He was professional and straightforward throughout the most chaotic hour of my life

Came in for shortness of breath. He dismissed my symptoms and told me to go home and exercise. I was persistent about my symptoms. I wanted the Echocardiogram, which he told me would be a waste of time, because I was fine. I ended up having 2 valve replaced. Thank god for my own intuition. I could have gone home, exercised like he said, and had a heart attack.

Wasn't impressed. Looked at my file, spent less than 10 minutes with me and dismissed my complaint of chest pain and shortness of breath. He did however acknowledge my blood pressure was 148/100 and told me to check with my GP. :)

Dr. Duerr saw me in the ER for a heart condition. I got a wealth of information quickly, but seeing this was in the ER, I would have expected that. He referred me to a surgeon and then followed up my case in surgery and after. He may have been direct and succinct in his interactions with me, but there wasn't any ambiguities about his recommendation for my care and well being. I like a decisive physician and felt very confident in his hands with my heart health going forward.

I met with Dr Duerr and was a bit apprehensive b/c of the rating I found on line. I will say that he a bit of an air about him. But I don't care if he has a friendly personality I just want him to be GOOD at his job. I found him to be very thorough, explained my situation at length providing statistic and lots of information I could consider. I left his office feeling that I had met with an expert and had complete confidence in his answers. He's a good doctor and staff are super friendly!

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Duerr. My family has a history of heart problems with my brother who is 10 years younger than me having by pass surgery a year ago. It was suggested by my brothers Dr. that family members be checked. I wanted to be proactive and follow up with a Cardiologist. Dr. Duerr treated me like I was wasting his time. Dr. Duerr was belittling and disingenuous. Needless to say I left in tears and have never been back. I do not recommend him to anyone.

Had a appt. w/ Dr. Duerr, the nursing staff was poorp. Dr. Duerr came in, after about a 50+ minute wait, told me to"go home he could not understand why I was there" spent 8 minutes w/me. I ended going to the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, about 6 weeks later, they recommended a surgery after doing tests, etc. Dr. Duerr's arrogance could have killed me if I had not followed up on my home to she real professional heart clinic.

Not too many write why they would or would not recommend a doctor, so it is hard to say why the low ratings. Dr. Duerr is very knowledgable and explained my condition well in a way that I understood. Perhaps because he is very honest and doesn't sugarcoat his recommendations or diagnoses that some people don't like how he communicates. I, on the other hand, want that in a doctor, so I trusted him and stuck with him. I have since moved out of the area and am trying to find a doc like him.
