I saw De.Dean for a second opinion & to consider his performing an Advanced Endoscopy. He did not examine me.He spent mere minutes with me.He said he had no idea when he would get back to me, after he reviewed my medical records. He was cold. After several weeks, I called and was told he was on vacation. The staff person had no idea if he had reviewed my medical records. After his vacation, he called me and asked what my problem was.I asked why he didn’t get back to and what was the plan now. He told me he saw no need to follow up with me and I should return to my original Gastroenterologist.During this conversatio, he was rude, cold, curt, mean and uncaring! If you enjoy feeling abused and treated like you don’t exist, he’s yourman. He really should stop pretending to practice medicine and retire. He is a hateful, ugly, person!!!

He helped save my life
Starting seeing Dr. Dean 2001-2020 when I moved out of state. Met him at Vassar clinic, he was upset that other Drs didn’t have certain tests run. He had then run turned out I had severe Crohns disease with a 16 inch bowel blockage. He took me under his wing& started seeing me at his practice, scheduled me for a bowel resection got me on a medication regimen also help me find a dietitian. I will tell anyone “He saved my life”. When I first moved out of state he still took my calls till I got a new Dr. Thank you Dr. Dean.

Liked him at first. I returned to him about a year later and didn't feel well. Had ongoing stomach problems. He was very rude and told me to stop whining. I never returned for his followup.

Wonderful, compassionate and very down to earth. Made my first colonoscopy a breeze. I've been putting it off for years for no reason at all. Awesome staff and facility. Thanks Dr Dean, for taking such good care of me!

Dr. Dean was initially very determined to find out what was wrong with me. He gave up VERY quickly, once a few standard tests didn't provide answers. After several days in the hospital and normal blood work and no initial findings in testing, he wrote me a script for an anti-depressant with ELEVEN REFILLS and walked out. I have complained to the practice, with no response. Run...don't walk. I was eventually diagnosed with a congenital issue and have scheduled surgery. He is a very basic GI.

After being told by other doctors that I had diverticulitis, Dr. Dean told me that I had IBS. He told me to go on the Mediterranean diet, and when I asked him what that was he told me to look it up on line. When I asked why so many other Dr.s thought I had diverticulitis he got annoyed that I was questioning him. It is now a year later and I've had two more Dr.s confirm that I actually do have diverticulitis. I am getting surgery soon, but I have suffered all year for nothing.
