I have been seeing Dr BLEM for over 5 years and am being treated diabetic retinopathy and yes there are wait times that’s because he’s taking care of other patients. That’s how I want to be treated, taking his time with my eyes. He has always discussed and answered my questions. I would say Leslie is tops as far as being kind to patients. The others are ok just got to loosen up a little, make that patient feel at ease. Give them a chance, this has to be a stressful job.

I was referred to Dr. Blem by another opthamologist when diagnosed with AMD. I have no problems with Dr. Blem! He explained my condition to me and showed my the pictures taken of my eye. I've been seeing him for a couple of years and have no problems or issues!

The doctor is really nice and explained everything really well. His office staff is aggrevating to deal with. They have lied to me twice saying they would call me back and haven't. If I could I would switch my doctor just to not deal with his staff.

I was referred to Dr. Blem by Dr. Donner Mizelle. I have extreme myopia in both eyes and cataracts had formed in my eyes. Dr. Blem was consulted to make sure my retinas were in good shape for the cataract surgery. He has been kind, compassionate, and made sure I understood the procedure he performed fully before he began. His staff has always been very friendly and polite. My only caution is be prepared to spend about 2 hours at his office for each visit. There is usually quite a wait in the waiting room and then in the dilation room before you get to see the doctor.

Eye Surgery with Blem failed to close macular hole. Dr didn’t show up at 2nd visit. After gas dissolved I learned my peripheral vision was lost. I searched for a new Dr in Houston. More advanced 2nd Surgery in Houston closed the macular hole with no head down, new technology procedure.. but peripheral Vision was lost in 1st surgery with Blem .. nerve damage... I could see better before I saw Dr Blem . The office of Dr Blem never followed up . I’d like to put 0 but won’t submit

Never even got in to see him. I waited over an hour in the waiting room, watching other patients who arrived long after me going in, until I decided this was not how I wanted my eyes to be taken care of for the rest of my life. As a nurse, I understand how emergencies can arise that take precedence, but the office staff's "apology" of "We'll get to you when we get to you" sounded a bit flat to my ears. Called my eye doctor and requested another referral.

I wouldn't recommend anybody even take their dog to this doctor. He came into the room and more or less told me I was going to do what he said or else. Trying to make me believe that I had to have an angiogram in order for him to fix my eyes and when I questioned him about it he told me, "You need to shake your head up and down and say, yes, sir." LOL. What a hoot. This man is ordering unnecessary testing for patients. Not very trusting of this doctor.

I do recommend Dr. Blem to all my friends having eye conditions requiring a specialist. Dr. Blem has been treating me for about 3 years for AMD. I feel very confident that his is the best in my area for my eyes. He seems to be very knowledgeable with AMD. He listens and answers all my questions.

He did not even introduce himself to my daughter, his patient, or me, her mother who was with her. He came in looked at the computer for her history and then he told my daughter she either had a stroke or MS and thus needed a MRI. Well she did them, 3 of them. He has never called to tell her the results. We went to another Dr.
