My experience with Dr. Beck was fabulous! He is very knowledgeable and had imparted that knowledge to us. He seemed to know more about my condition than any other doctor that I had ever seen. My wife and I found him to be very affable. His nurse Andrew was very precise and cordial! I am definitely looking forward to my next visit with Dr. Beck in 12 weeks.

Dr. Beck has horrible bedside manners. He claimed that since my referring physician did not give explicit orders to perform a full nuerology exam, he was only limited to completing a NCS or EMG test. When he was finally finished with the excruciatingly painful procedures, I asked him about the results. He snapped back and said that the doctor's orders did not allow him to elaborate much. He just said it was inconclusive and that if my doctor would like to rewrite an order and be more specific with his requests, Dr. Beck could be more helpful. I have never been to a neurologist before, but I found Dr. Beck to be arrogant and snarky, lacking the patience, care, and concern that I've come to know, love, and expect from doctors partnered with LMH. Additionally, because I had to wait so long for the doctor to come into the exam room after the technician had started the procedure, the office actually closed and all the staff went home. The lights were off. When I came out of the exam room, I discovered that Dr. Beck and I were the only two people in the entire office. That creeped me out. I am a trauma survivor, so to be caught alone in the dark with a man that I had never met before, let alone one that had already made me feel uneasy and was rude, really stirred up some intense emotions. A formal complaint was lodged with the hospital administrator. I will not go back.

I went to Dr. Beck because I had many hours of seizures along with severe flashbacks frequently. We found out that I have non-epileptic seizures after taking an EEG scan. I asked for advice on how to heal it. He started telling me people like me end up having no skills, depressed, and alone. I have already told him I have friends, draw art daily, and my problem is not depression but seizures and flashbacks so I got confused and explained my situation to him again. He then snapped at me saying my problem isn't flashbacks but my emotions. He started telling me to draw art at least 4 hours a day even though I have told him I do so already on days I don't have seizures. He then tells me to start working even though I am disabled. I asked for assistance to get my disability benefits because I'm on the verge of becoming homeless. Without me even being able to finish my question, he cuts me off and tells me I would end up like those teenagers stuck in their parents' basement forever.

Misdiagnosis with no followup
Referred for an EMG for sciatica prior to a planned laminectomy. The doctor spent two hours doing the painful procedure and he indicated I had a problem. He had a strange affect. Had me come back for more testing and to see his associate. He said he was going on vacation and would call me. He never called and I had problems getting medical records. Medical records not on “My Chart”. I had the planned surgery and now doing well. My wife wrote him a letter regarding the strange encounter and lack of followup. He again never called.

Former patient
I had several appointments with this neurologist for a migraine condition I've had most of my life. My prior urologist in the area had retired. Since then, I have gone out of state for this type of care. This is quite do-able now, with telemedicine.

Dr Beck is awesome! His nurse is equally as awesome. Both were very attentive and understanding and very helpful. I almost cancelled my appointment with him due to the negative reviews on here, but I am so glad that I gave him a chance. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Beck seemed unwilling to explore my intractable migraine saying that a plant based diet exercise would resolve it. I am already a vegetarian but he didn’t seem to ever want to listen to that. I ended up admitted to another hospital where I was diagnosed with a rare condition and after having brain surgery and am finally feeling better.

I really appreciated my consultation with Dr. Beck regarding issues I'm experiencing following damage to my spinal cord. I learned a great deal of very helpful information. He took his time, listened carefully and answered all my specific questions. I will go back to him for additional consultation when/if needed!

Arrogant, rude, condescending, doesn't listen. Not allowed to speak to tell him my symptoms, acted like I was wasting his time. Never got to even tell what my issues were. I was pretty shocked that he wasn't interested in hearing what my trouble was. must have been having a very bad day, or something.

I came to Dr. Beck for a case of chronic migraines in 2016. I was having 20 migraines a month, and he prescribed me a low dose of Tizanidine and zolmatriptan. When I complained of side effects from zolmatriptan, and no improvement from the Tizanidine, he refused to change my treatment plan and insisted that most migraine meds are just placebos anyway, and if I excercised more (I run 5x a week...) and had a more positive attitude, I’d get better. Switched to a new doc & new meds, doing great now!

Just another apathetic and jaded physician who will roll his eyes with exasperation if you dare to speak. Walk into to any neuro at this office and you'll experience the same. They are utterly worthless and downright cruel. Will not hesitate to insult or degrade you. "You're interested in diet to treat a neurological disease huh? Why don't you let me know when the FDA approves food as medical treatment." Enjoy!

I was referred to DR Beck by two of his patients that shared similar issues concerning not being able to receive any clinical testing and a disregarding of health history by another Neurologist. I was hoping to receive clinical tests to determine proper diagnosis by explaining history that lead to my issues, I was cut off of being able to talk about my health history and was told to go to Kansas City or Missouri for treatment because of a potential legal dispute with his colleagues.
