Major back surgeries – Mar 19, 2024

20 years ago Dr. Banco operated on me
Dr. Banco did a complete back fusion on me in 2004! And today I am still having no issues with what he did. Dr. Banco was at that time at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Dr. Banco was kind, caring and helped me through a difficult period in my life. I will be 80 in March and the fusion is still holding strong! If I wasn’t in Florida now I would be going to him now with issues I’m having at this time. He is and was an amazing doctor and caring human being! Karen Brockman

Dr Robert Banco is a talented surgeon and has a wonderful bedside manner! I had a small survival rate and an even smaller one that I would not be a quadriplegic. I been walking for 20 years now. He’s the only one I’ll ever let touch my spine.

Dr Banco performed a Laminectomy on several lower discs . After a 3 plus hour surgery went home 4 hours later. First week was painful but week 2 pain in legs gone and was able to walk 2-3 miles per day. By week 4 was able to do anything but lift heavy objects. Amazing results and PT wasn’t even necessary. Very Pleased and thankful.

Dr. Banco took all the time we needed for me to understand exactly what he would be doing and why it was necessary. He promised to treat me asa he would a member of his own family. My surgery took six hours and was quite complicated, but Dr. Banco's skill has restored me to a normal,, pain-free life.

I cannot tell you how highly I recommend Dr. Banco !!! I had 3 back surgeries in my twenties and he did a 10 hour surgery 15 years later. He saw me when nobody gave me hope. He was very honest and told me exactly what it would be like and honest about not getting rid of all the pain. He also did a fusion on my 15 daughter and my husband. There is NO other surgeon I would recommend as highly as Dr Banco. He will tell you if surgery will not help and will give you other alternatives if possible!

I had the same problem, every Doctor I saw said it was muscluar problem. I was sent to Dr Banco, who found two vertabre in need of repair. Had the surgery in 2015, and all my problem were better than before. No one can get rid of arthitis, and that is the only problem I have now.

I had 2 discs removed by Dr Banco and hardware put in place. Upon waking up I had bad problems. He performed a second surgery to remove a badly placed bolt as it had hit soft tissue. I did not get better but worse . Dr Banco refused to help me. Went to Leahy Clinic. They found all the hardware had been installed wrong and was hitting soft tissue and had it all removed. Dr Banco did offer me an anti -depressant prescription. How thoughtful !

I can't say enough about this amazing man ! I'm 39 year old woman who was suffering since 19 with severe neck and shoulder pain . I had been seen by many other specialists who told me repeatedly it was muscles. Well one MRI and 15 mins with Dr. B and all the years of pain were now able to be fixed . I was scared to death to do the surgery but he was patient and kind, I finally got up the nerve to do it in June 2016 ! It's my new birthday because now I'm better than I've been since my teen years!

I read the review where the person left a bad review of Dr . Banco. I can only imagine that the reviewer didn't follow the instructions from the doctor after surgery. Dr. Banco repaired a serious back injury of mine in 2004. He was absolutely the most honest doctor I've ever met. He told me upfront that even though he could repair the mechanical issues of my spine, getting rid of the pain was something that probably wouldn't happen. I can walk today due to the ability of Dr Banco.
