Awful. He aborted my surgery after under anesthesia without an explanation. Turns out my bones were healing in the wrong directions and another surgeon had to fix it.

I had a lateral shoulder tendon relocation surgery, what that means is my rotator cuff snapped and retracted and had to take tendon from back to replace tendon in rotator cuff. Not many doctors perform this and maybe two a year are done. Considering problems of range and strength not doing it there is significant progress, it’s slow like a year long but your retraining a muscle group. 8 months after Dr Ablove performed that surgery I developed a bone spur that impinged on bicep tendon on other shoulder that caused pain. That surgery was much easier to recover from. His office was great following up, minimal wait times and I was fortunate to not have surgery scheduling it a timely manner.

Dr Ablove and everyone in his office has been polite, honest and friendly. The way Dr Ablove has broken down treatment options and what to expect during a procedure is great. He really makes you feel like you are part of the process. I love how quickly they get back to you after calling or sending a message thru patient portal.

I’ve had a previous surgery performed by Dr. Ablove and am currently awaiting my follow-up surgery. It’s difficult trying to reach his office staff. They don’t answer phone calls, ignore voicemails, and messages left on their Patient Portal. I’ve even had a schedule telemedicine appointment w/his P.A., who failed to keep the scheduled appointment. It’s disheartening to see that others have experienced the same issues that I’ve had earlier this year prior to COVID-19, so now I’m realizing that the pandemic isn’t an excuse anymore - just sheer laziness and unprofessionalism. It would’ve been easier for me to have found another physician earlier prior to my previous surgeries with Ablove, but I’m so far in the process with these procedures, I need him to complete my follow-up surgery and remove this rod from my arm and have his staff return phone calls. More importantly - keep scheduled telemedicine appointments.

Although Dr. Ablove may be a good surgeon, his staff are unprofessional. They NEVER answer the phone, take several days to return phone calls and do not know how to fill out paperwork properly, and used the wrong forms, which caused my insurance company to deny my claim. When I called to complain, I was told Dr. Ablove no longer wanted to do the carpal tunnel surgery because of my complaint.

Excellent, many times over! Dr A was excellent, friendly and professional from beginning to end. I have recommended him and will continue to do so.
