I love Dr Hood but I think it’s time for him to retire. He has seen everyone in my family and while I appreciate him- him passing me off to another doctor who after multiple appointments was just throwing jello at a wall that wasn’t working or listening and even REFUSED to send me to the endocrinologist I needed to see was ridiculous. Dr Hood did however order the necessary tests and did most of what he could for me besides control my blood pressure that he felt wasn’t controllable and I couldn’t understand why a cardiologist couldn’t figure things out esp knowing my entire families history. I love Dr Hood and his staff but I think he’s over worked and doesn’t have time to treat people correctly as needed hence why I was farmed our to another person who almost killed me.

Dr Hood is very easy to talk with, makes his thoughts easily understood, has a wealth of sensitivity and knowledge. I follow his instructions to the letter, and feel like I'm the most important patient he has. What else can you expect from a Doctor? Good guy too.

A top tier Vanderbilt physician, technically very knowledgeable, intensely patient-oriented and exceptionally pleasant. Has an unusually good ability to interpret complex medical situations and convey them effectively for patients.

Dr. Hood was my husband's cardiologist through many heart conditions before he passed due to kidney failure, and he is a wonderful person as well as a fantastic specialist. He has a great personality and is very caring about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a competent, caring cardiologist who knows his specialty exceptionally well but is also very personable. I have a heart murmur, and I was so satisfied with Dr. Hood that I chose him as my cardiologist as well.
