Ugh!!!
Excellent diagnostician. But once you have a diagnosis, it seems that's the end of involvement....no monitoring of acute or chronic symptoms, no further contact. Worse, NO further guidance or direction for the patient or caregiver. The question 'What's next?' was never answered. Not good with such complex, life-altering, horrible disease. But so goes the health care system (not really a 'system' at all -- money rules, not quality of care).

Excellent and compassionate care!
Explanation and review of past records was very detailed. Took her time with testing and offered detailed information about her reasons for additional testing. So kind! My first visit and I knew I was in good hands!

Dr. Patira took three months to call my wife after her initial evaluation , CAT scan, and MRI. There was an abnormality which showed up on the imaging. When she called us she explained that they are so busy and that time to call patients isn't really calculated into their workday. She did tell us that my wife has the symptoms of the early stages of Alzheimer's. We made a follow up appointment for four months later. About a month from then her office called to reschedule for another three months later. We got a name of a doctor from the other major health care provider in Pittsburgh and cancelled with Dr. Patira. we were able to get in with a certified specialist in this field in less than a month. The care and service has been much better. I am still appalled at the cavalier attitude we received at Presby and Dr. Patira. This is not intended to promote the competition but simply state what happened to us. 06/2020
