Dr.Z is in a class by himself! His knowledge in the field of oncology along with his compassion and empathy for the human condition separates him from other physicians!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Z for nearly five years. When first diagnosed he instantly put me at ease and went over every detail throughly. He has always been open, honest and out for my best interest. Most decisions were made together. I always felt part of the team. At this point he’s is like family to me. Best care you could possibly get!

Dr Z has been treating me for over 8 years. He's kind and thoughtful, gentle and thorough. He takes the time to explain, and he listens without being in a hurry. He cares for his patients' comfort; he listened when I asked for cloth gowns, not those flimsy paper things. He has worked with me through several medications to find one that has the least side-effects. If he's running late, he pops into the waiting room to tell you he'll be just a few more minutes (who does that???). He knows ME. He remembers ME. I'm a real person to him. And I like his new center at St Vincent's Medical Ctr. and the people who work with him.

Extremely thorough and caring

Dr. Z is the BEST!! Very thorough in explaining diagnosis, options and overall process! He was there every step of the way, even on days of treatments! He is also a major proponent of preventing hair loss and assists with the process of hair caps!

I am a former oncology RN. I am so grateful that I changed oncologist. Dr . Zelkowitz is the most caring MD. He is a big factor in my recovery.He saved me mentally. I would highly recommend this doctor to any and all needing his expertise. It is his internal law to make sure no stone is neglected or left unturned regarding your health factors ever, period. If you fail to keep any detail of protocol current, he will personally find you and will fight for you to be diligent in monitoring your own health.

Dr. ZELKOWITZ is an incredible oncologist. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful about medical issues he is also incredibly caring and accessible to his patients. I could not recommend a physician more highly.

I had cancer. I was terrified, felt alone and confused. Dr. Zelkowitz reassured me that I would be fine, explained every step of the way, put me in the hands of a terrific surgeon, and I felt he saw me as an individual. Whenever I had an appointment he would stick his head in the waiting room and apologize for being late, even if it was just 5 minutes late. He felt my time was just as important as his. Follow-up care has been just as thorough and caring as my first. Dr Z is great!

Dr. Z as I call him is the most caring doctor I've ever known. He takes a personal interest in all of his patients. He is extremely dedicated to his work. I have no idea when he rests. You will never wait for test results as he will inform you of your results the moment they are complete. Eleven years after my treatment for stage II breast cancer he is still just as warm and caring as he was the first time I met him.
