Dr. Yokell is the best psychiatrist I have ever had. I have struggled with mental health for 15 years. While seeing Dr. Yokell over the last four years, I finally got a correct diagnosis and am now more stable and healthy than I ever remember being in my life. Dr. Yokell looks at his patients holistically, explains processes thoroughly so you know exactly what is going on with you and your medicine, but most importantly genuinely cares about you as his patient. I highly recommend Dr. Yokell!

I have a huge sense of comfort knowing that Dr. Yokell is on my health care team. As someone who thinks about health holistically, I was amazed to find a psychiatrist who also does. And as someone who has had negative experiences in the past with psychiatrists who are eager to simply prescribe a pharmaceutical--and so spend very little time learning about your life and particular stressors--it was a huge surprise to have a whole 1-2 hours dedicated to the initial appointments. Now that I am out of a serious episode of depression/anxiety (during pregnancy), my appointments are about 30 minutes each. Dr. Yokell's attentive listening and thoroughness in getting a multi-dimensional picture of how I'm doing have been consistent throughout. Some patients might not care about a physician caring about them; I definitely do, and I sense that from Dr. Yokell. He is also aware of current research, which I appreciate. Michelle (staff) is so friendly and easy to work with.

Dr. Yokell has really helped me, getting me on a stable set of meds that finally works for me. He is practical and compassionate, and when I have even small personal victories, I feel like he's really pulling for me. He is careful with what he prescribes, considering long-term side effects and my overall health - and actually listening to my input. He doesn't just tell you what to do, he takes the time to explain and discuss options. I absolutely recommend him.

If you are just looking for someone to jot off a quick script, Dr. Yokell is not for you. If however, you are wanting a thorough evaluation, a careful listener and a clinician who is willing to educate you regarding disease processes and treatment options - including those options that do not involve medication- then Dr. Yokell is your guy. He is low key, low pressure and zero judgement.

He focuses on the patient's mental wellness without lifelong dependency on meds which could be more harmful than helpful in the long run. Looks at the mental and physical health of the whole person not just prescribing meds to mask the symptoms which is obvious after reading his bio and first initial visit. Straight forward and knowledgeable.

He is very thorough. He is concerned about your mental, physical, and emotional health. He looks at all aspects of these areas. Very Knowledgeable.
