Worthwhile to wait for an appointment
Dr. Medley is in high demand, and waiting 2-3 months for an appointment is absolutely worthwhile. He takes the time to analyze each case thoroughly, avoiding hasty decisions about surgery. By prioritizing your body’s healing process before considering major procedures, he ensures the best outcomes. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Medley.

Don't waste your time.
Waited over 2 months for an appointment. When I got there, I waited another hour before Dr. Medley came in for 2 minutes before leaving for another half an hour to 'find records'. Did not listen to a word I said, had his mind made up before he came into the room. I have never felt less cared about as a patient then at this facility.

listens and cares a lot
When you are elderly some doctors think you don't have much time so they don't go the route that they do for young. He works with my 88 year old blind person and treats him like he is special. We love him.

Thank You
Well.. I have joined the kidney stone club.I’ve been in some of the worse pain in my life the last 2 days. Thanks to First Urology and Dr Richard Medley, it’s removed. Now I’m in recovery. July 4th Holiday and the only Dr capable of doing this in our area was Dr Medley.. everyone else was out on Holiday. He was able to get me in on a tight schedule. He was definitely my hero this weekend. Also wanted to thank UL SOUTH hospital for taking care of me on July 4th and Clark Memorial Hospital for my second ER visit and for the lithotripsy procedure.

Apprehensive Patient
This was my first visit with Dr. Medley. My visit was concerning low T levels and fatigue. As soon as he walked in, he put me at ease with his communication skills and professionalism. His humor was also on point. I have been in the medical field for over 30 years, and I have met a lot of excellent doctors, and now Dr Medley is in the group. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any of my friends or family. Thanks for your honest opinion and suggestions to help me get on the right track.

Don't bother
I waited over an hour and 15 minutes in a standing room only waiting room. Then found out there were 4 other patients with the same appointment time. I was put in an exam room where I waited another 20 minutes. I spoke to the doctor for 2 minutes-he didn't have all the reports that were sent. And told me it was nothing. Two months later-still having issues

Refused an elective procedure for my 23 yr old son
He told my 23 year old son he would NOT perform an elective procedure unless he brought his mommy to discuss the ramifications of the surgery. Not my business. He’s a grown adult and makes his OWN decisions about his medical care. I’d give him ZERO stars If I could.

I would not recommend Dr Medley to anyone I care about! I was referred to him by my Primary Care Physician and saw him for 5 years. He performed 2 prostate biopsies during that time as well as a Urolift! Scheduling was atrocious and offices visits were rushed with little to no explanation or discussion. My PSA just from 6 to 13.6 in one year which was a good indicator of prostate cancer. When he scheduled the 2nd biopsy he shrugged my high PSA off and gave me some half baked story about another patient. When the biopsy came back, I waited 3.5 hours beyond my scheduled appt. Receptionsit was not wearing a mask and the office was packed. He tossed the positive result to me and said you've got cancer you can do radiation, surgery or nothing! Then he could remember the oncologist's name to refer to me to. He only cares aboutwe volume and could not care less about you as a patient. His practice is a joke and he has no business being in practice! Find a REAL Urologist!

Dr. Medley has treated me for Prostate Cancer and multiple kidney stones over a decade. His treatments have been effective. He is a very busy doctor, so explanations may be fast. When I do not understand, I ask questions until I do. Doctors deal with all levels of medical knowledge in patients, so we patients need to keep asking where we do not get it. Dr. Medley has never been impatient with my asking. He even diagrams details so I can refer to his drawing later.

Dr. Medley's bedside manner is poor to say the least. His professionalism is zero of 10, and his sarcastic personality is not comforting during hard times. His only saving grace is his nurse practitioner, Stephanie.

No communication or patient relationship. After three procedures and multiple visits to the office Dr. Medley looked at us as if he were seeing us for the first time. I understand that he does many procedures, but it would've been much more comforting to have felt some type of Doctor/patient relationship. Didn't inform us of all options and acted unprofessionally when a second opinion was sought.
