Dr. Richard Lee Stowell, MD

I had a reverse total shoulder replacement done by Dr. Stowell. After three opinions with widely different probability outcomes on the success rate I decided to go ahead with the surgery with Dr. Stowell. I'm so glad I did. It was a huge success. He is an excellent surgeon, inspires confidence before and after the surgery, is attentive with pain management, and recovery is closely monitored by both the hospital and his practice. There are many good orthopedic surgeons out there, but Dr. Stowell appears to be a cut above.

This doctor is most excellent! Between him and Dr Olscamp, we are so lucky to have 2 of the best shoulder doctors in the NW. I have had 2 new hips and 2 surgeries on my right shoulder. Getting ready to have my left shoulder done next. I would not even consider having any other doctors do it. I see someone's review that he doesn't care about pain. I totally disagree. You get exactly what you need. The women in the front are always smiling and friendly. Each and every nurse has always been nice and pleasant also. If you need to get a shoulder fixed, go to him or Olscamp. They are simply the best around. Ps. My second surgery on the same arm was my fault. I picked up a fat wienie dog and tore everything back off the bone. Dr. Stowell put everything back together again. Also, I have a horrible nerve disease that makes my body go to sleep. Dr. Stowell actually did my shoulder surgeries with my sitting up in a chair. How obliging is that?? Thanks!

My shoulder was a mess from a bad fall. Torn bicep, 3 of 4 rotator cuff tendons with multiple tears and bone spurs. He put me back together with a 3 hour surgery and post surgery pain was less than pre! He took photos, before and after repairs and explained everything clearly. His manner is KIND and compassionate. He is a genius!
