The Best I have visited
Dr. Hynes is pretty amazing. Not only is he the best at what he does, he is also patient, thorough and can make complicated issue simple to understand. I came in with great pain in my body and feeling hopeless and left filled with hope and optimism. I don't really want to have back surgery, bju\\ut I have to Dr. Hynes is the guy I want to do it.

Caring, Attentive, Skilled Surgeon,
Not only did he change my quality of life by performing his ALIF surgery on L2-S1 2 years ago, but recently got involved with my neuropathy in legs and feet, that started over a year ago. This condition can be devastating. After many tests from Neurologist, there seemed to be no hope. Pain levels every day from 6-8. Dr Hynes got involved during a normal visit, and after more testing said he could help me. Performed a spinal decompression surgery 4 months ago, and today I experience intermittent leg and foot pain, accompanied by some numbness. He Cares! He is Talented! So glad he is my Doctor! Great staff also Thank You Damian and Debbie!!!

I was lucky to find such an awesome surgeon in Melbourne. I had a 2 level lumbar fusion done from the oblique area cutting no back muscles in January 2020. I am so glad I chose him! I couldn’t walk more than 5 minutes before surgery. I’m back playing golf, walking on the beach, ice skating, and many other activities. I have my life back thanks to Dr. Hynes!

Dr R Hynes did perform two major spine surgeries. He did a major complex cervical fusion and reconstruction ted my lower back and repaired 4 prior back surgeries done by other doctors. He is extremely intelligent and a superb Orthropedic surgeon. He uses stem cells on my two surgeries and custom devices he patented. I could not have had a better doctor. I have no complaints. He accomplished the surgeries other surgeons couldnt, with excellent results. I'm pain and drug free. He has a State of the Art medical office and can do 3D MRI's. He is the best and most knowledgeable Orthropedic Doctor I have known. Great bedside manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking relief from spinal pain or loss of functions

I had cervical fusion done years ago by Dr. Hynes and everything went well. My biggest is his help that does his scheduling for his appointments and surgery. My neck surgery was cancelled three times and I had an appt with him that I was looking forward to for back surgery only to be called 1 week before to cancel the appt and schedule the next one for 2 more months. This is crazy.

Great skillful surgeon. Always been nice to me. I do however have a critique. In 1998 he was the doctor I saw at my appointment and all throughout my surgical experience. Now good luck gettin in to see him. Until it’s surgery time. You just feel like a number. Also some of the PA’s or other staff seem to have a hard time LISTENING and being on time. As far as a surgeon Dr Hynes is the best and don’t think I would trust anyone else preform my spinal surgery. I have worked with surgeons and in the OR for many years. I’ve seen the biggest babies and the others who use the team available to be the best at what they do.

Dr. Hynes was recommended to me for lower back surgery. Five people I know plus myself have had surgery with Dr. Hynes. Six of us all have had great success - long recuperation time but we are all pain free. I will continue to recommend him. Dr. Hynes told me he continues to learn and grow in his practice - always for good outcomes.

Dr. Hynes operated on my back three times and each one was worse than the last. When I first went to him I could walk 2 miles a day, play Pickel Ball, Golf and play tennis. After three surgeries I can't do any of the above. I would not recommend Dr. Hynes. However, he is personally a very nice man.

Dr Hynes was very friendly and told me he could fix my neck outpatient in about 30 minutes, to come back and see him when ready. Well, two weeks later, I call and his staff said I need a new MRI and another x-ray??. Sorry but my insurance isn’t going to pay for another MRI that I just had and a x-ray only two weeks old. Such a shame, I really liked him but good luck getting back in with his staff stating repeat test have to be done , really ! Guess I will find another surgeon.

Under no circumstance should anyone use Dr. Hynes for back surgery. I am a physician from South Florida who traveled to Melbourne for a multi level lumbar fusion on the advice of several reps from the device company Medtronic. He is on their payroll so I wonder now what the motivation was. After his surgery I spent 5 months in the most agonizing pain anyone could imagine. He called me often to see how I was. It was almost like he knew something was wrong. When I showed my X-rays to other spine surgeons they couldn't believe what they were looking at. Botched would be a kind word to describe his "carpentry". Screws to short, the wrong type of screw, screws falling out, plates falling out and a large screw that missed the bone and was sitting in my disc space. I was told to wait 6 months before jumping into another big surgery on the small chance it would heal. After 5 months of torture I finally went to New York. I had to have all of the hardware removed and the whole thing done over.

Dr Hynes is a nice, knowledgeable, capable doctor. However, he has too many patients. His office staff is also very disorganized and rude. Not once have I been greeted with a smile when I check in. I always get a look like I'm bothering them. Then when you check out and try to make the requested doctor appt. you are told "I cant find anything on his calendar and Pat will call you"... every time.. Does Pat call? Nope. You end up calling her only to find nothing avail for months.

Came in 3 years ago now with 2 discs impinging on my spinal cord due to a rear end collision from a truck at a light. 5 months of unbearable pain that didn't start for almost a month after accident. Got MRI, and the neurologist was so concerned called me the SAME DAY. Dr Hynes cleared his schedule and did emergency surgery to replace 2 discs, and cage C4, C5 & C6...Flawless experience and post-op. Seeing him directly Post-Op can be tough, but what I care about most is the mad surgical skills!

I have very complicated back and neck issues due to a genetic disorder and birth defects in my neck and back. Dr.Hynes is the first doctor that even heard of my disorder and developed a plan to help with the constant pain of over 35 years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommended him to anyone with back and neck problems.

If you want a doctor that lies and staff that is mostly incompetent - losing appointments, constantly changing appointment, missed Rx Refills and tons of headaches this is your spot! Dr. Hynes may have a lot of knowledge - but if he can't fix you - he will just keep operating and operating regardless of if it will really fix your issue!! There are a few gems in his Staff - that are amazing - but overall there is a ton of incompetencies, lack of communication, and untruths! Choose another doc!
